'We arrived in the evening and we were welcomed very warmly by Bettina and her son. The view was amazing over Baños, very much worth the 15 mins hike up the mountain road. We felt more like being invited at a family, Bettina and Darwin personally cooked our diners which were always very delightful. 'This is one of the most beautiful properties I've ever stayed at. Every feature and design details were very thoughtful and luxurious. The extensive grounds were well maintained. The pool and spa was the highlight. It was just breathtaking how beautiful it was! Our room was very clean and comfortable. We dined at the hotel both nights that we were there and we had great meals. The view from the restaurant was phenomenal. The staff was fantastic and attentive. I highly recommend Samari resort! '

'It's a hostel, not a hotel, so if your expectations are set appropriately, this is a superb find. A bit out of town - 15 mins walk downhill into town and a $1.50 taxi ride home - but nestled at the foot of the mountains. So much nicer than the hundreds of hostels surrounded by karaoke bars near the bus station in town. Run by the nicest, most obliging family. A fabulous breakfast included. Recommended most highly.'
