'The staff was friendly and helpful and considering the age of the property, it was very clean. The rooms were huge and they all had a pretty view of the field behind the property. This property was conveniently located near a wedding venue we were headed to. It was not fancy but it was very clean. '

'Here with three friends for girls getaway. Love the property, close proximity to town, walkability, parking. Loved the grounds. No full length mirrors in room, nor hangars for clothing. Because part of the building is from the 1800's, the renovations have "piped in air-con" with was through a vent in the window, but it did work.'

The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are charming, and the breakfast is one of the best of its kind: the owner bakes a range of delicious cakes each morning. If you plan on visiting Yosemite or the Sequoia trees in the Calaveras grove nearby, or, in fact, Sonora and Gold Country, the Gunn House is by far the best choice.'
