Great Spot for College Visits

Good location, but needs a little TLC
If you are needing to use both beds in this cottage, the guest bed is in need of replacement. Our adult son, normal weight, could not sleep on the bed because of old mattress very uncomfortable. A foam pad was put on to try to mitigate this problem, but it is also old and very mushy. The sofa is supposed to be allow for additional sleeping arrangements, but it is also old and kind of blown out. The kitchen was adequate, but could use some upgrades. Not enough coffee cups for 4-6 people and very minimal silverware.

Great location
This was a great little holiday house. Perfect location in a quiet, safe neighborhood. The backyard was a great relaxing area with some toys for our kids which was a lovely bonus. Host was super responsive, cleaning staff were friendly. Downsides: The place could use some better amenities to make the stay more comfortable. The queen bed was two old spring mattresses stacked on top of each other on a very squeaky bed frame with no box spring. One of us ended up sleeping on the couch because it was so uncomfortable to have two in the bed . There were only 4 pillows in the whole unit and not a lot of kitchen supplies (only a few mugs, glasses etc) so we were doing dishes every day. Overall it was a lovely stay otherwise but would have given 5 stars if some of those upgrades were there.

Mini vacation before school

Cozy place
Enjoyed some time with extended family here…much better than a hotel lobby for our mini reunion. Neighborhood was quiet and it was a terrific location for us heading north to La Jolla and south to Balboa Park. It’s also very close to Old Town.

A Great Location
With the exception of the property not being as clean initially as we expected, due to an apparent cleaning miscommunication, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is comfortable, has a piano (which we particularly appreciated) and is strategically located close to almost everything in the San Diego Metro area. Jimmy was extremely responsive to our questions and needs. Thanks, Jimmy, for a delightful stay.

Pride Weekend 2022
This is my first time using Vrbo. Honestly if I have to go off of this experience I would say I was not impressed. I honestly don’t blame the owner of the property but whoever is in charge of keeping this property nice and tidy is not doing a good job. Our check in time was 4 pm…arrived a little after 5 pm to someone still cleaning the house…we were told to come back 30 minutes later but we decided to stay considering it was way past our check in time. The cleaner had a pet which was in the property upon arrival as well. When I went to the kitchen to put some groceries in there were still items in there that I was told belonged to the cleaner. After the cleaner left they stayed in their car for a long time while my friend was waiting to pull her car into the one designated spot. Finally we had to approach the cleaner after waiting 20 mins to ask if they could move their vehicle. After an hour of all of this going on we decided to go to the backyard to relax a little bit when then the cleaner returned with the pup and walked straight back to the backyard which is where we were all sitting. To our surprise we said hello and the cleaner brought the pup just to have it go potty on the lawn…in front of us? Very odd. There were also some beach items around which is when the cleaner told me that those items belonged to the cleaner. They were just letting it dry while they cleaned the property. Well later when we used the washing machine my friend pulled out her items only to see it covered in beach sand! The washing machine needs to be cleaned out b/c there is SO much sand at the bottom of it. We tried using the blender and a part was broken making it unable to be used. There were wet spots on the couch as well when we arrived. There are these super cute carport lights but can’t be turned on unless you are renting another one of the units on-site so that was a little bit of a bummer to have almost no light in the backyard. I do have to give credit to the owner b/c he did offer to reimburse the cleaning fee (which I’m waiting on) and fix the blender, since we were gone all day Saturday he wasn’t able to come inside to fix the blender. So I understand that part…upon checkout we went to strip the beds as requested in the check out rules to find blood stains on the sheets, mattress protectors and pillows! These items should be replaced…also the shower head in master is moldy with a missing screen in the window.

We had a very nice quiet stay here with our dogs. It is very centrally located and easy to get to in an older neighborhood. Friendly neighbors! Dog friendly park just down the hill. The beds are very nice, and the internet TV works great!

Excellent Stay
We enjoyed our stay at this property! The house was clean and spacious enough for our group (3 adults + 1 active 4-year old). The kitchen seemed to be stocked well (though we didn’t do any cooking). The living area was comfortable. It has two good-sized bedrooms and the bathrooms were clean. The master bath was very nice with dual sinks. It’s located in a quiet residential neighborhood and parking was easy. The location was good - it felt like we were about 10 mins from everything. I would definitely stay here again!

The property is really well located, just a short drive to Old Town and easy access to the highways. We made it to the zoo in just over 10 minutes (no traffic). The house had everything we needed. It does get a little chilly in the bedrooms but it was manageable. The heater does a good job on the rest of the house. Would definitely recommend.

The house is nicely located at the foot of USD with quick access to main roads. Perfect for a small family to stay over the weekend. It served as a great launching pad to venture out to Sunset, Torrey Pines, and other surrounding surf spots, and an easy drive north to Santa Monica and LA.

This place was clean and easy to access. The kitchen supplies was bleak. The house rules said not to make noise from 9-9. There was another guest there that opened and slammed his rear door about 12 times long before 9am. (Parked right outside the master bedroom). This of course was not the owners fault. Maybe they need to switch the spots around so this can not happen.

Good location to enjoy San Diego
We enjoyed our short stay in San Diego by visiting the zoo for the first time in many, many years, seeing Point Loma, Old Town, visiting relatives and finding restaurants we haven't eaten in before. This cottage is in a good location to branch out. It is clean. The time we spent inside was comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen except to make coffee, and store some food and drink, but what we did need was there. The window coverings need repair and the front room feels a bit like living in a goldfish bowl after dark. The living room sectional has definitely been used a lot. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio as the sun went down.

Great location. Stayed almost three weeks to visit first grandchild. Literally 10-15 minutes from anything you would want to see in San Diego. Excellent communication with owner who responded quickly to a few VERY minor requests. Outside table and grill were comfortable gathering spot. Would certainly stay again.

LAST MINUTE TRIP
We picked this place, as we needed to be close to San Diego and La Jolla. The place was neat, and the backyard area was great. The vertical blinds are not conducive to repeated openings of the windows. Two bathrooms were great.

Clean, comfortable cottage in relatively quiet neighborhood. Convenient to the I-5, short drive to the Mission Bay and Pacific Beach neighborhoods. Check in and out was very easy with the information provided. Could use window blind replacements on many of the windows, but otherwise everything was in good condition.

Cute house in a quite neighborhood. Provided coffee but no creamer or sugar. The house felt very lived in. As if people live there daily and leave abruptly when it's booked. I guess this is on us but someone tried to or came in the back door unknown to us till the next morning in the middle of the night. You are staying directly in front of other living quarters but the house provided lots privacy. Lots of parking. The house is located very close to a lot of different things. Lots of character here for sure.
