This is a traditional inexpensive Tico hotel. It has fans instead of AC, no pool, thinner walls than US folk are used to, no elevator front and center. But it is clean, safe, and costs half or less the rate of a US-style hotel. There is a mall, banks and restaurants within a half kilometer. It's good at being what it's supposed to be.

It’s between a very busy road and a railway line so noise might be an issue. Easy walk to shopping mall and plenty of restaurants/ bars. About 20-25 minute walk into the main business shopping area in town

The staff really helped when I had a problem with my airlines. The breakfast selectfion was great, as was their method of reserving the food you wanted for breakfast, and what time slot you wanted. Close to musiums, restaurants and pubs

Ernesto exceeds the standards for hospitality! He was amazing. He set us up with a driver and acted as a concierge and reserved our transportation and tours. We will be back!

Hello Mr. Adam. Thanks a lot for taking a little time to share your experince. Most of our rooms are in the back and do not get as much noise as the two in the front. Next time if you reserve with a little more time we will do our best to provide you with one of those back rooms.

Central stay with clean basic conditions
The owner of the hotel is very sweet and helpful and the hotel ( or better say hostel really) is centrally located, which makes it a nice stay. It is also clean. Amenities are basic, room is very simple, be prepared for a lukewarm water. But the price speaks for it. I stayed as part of the group travel so it was an agency choice which was obviously budget focused.

Thanks a lot for shareing your your positive experince in our place. Our water heaters works with solar power and most of the time they provide enough warm water but some cloudy days they fail. Now we are installing a Gas sistem to give support in those day.

Reservé por expedia, me cobraron por medio de la app expedia, llegué al hotel como a las 10pm, toqué la puerta, llamé por teléfono, nadie me abrió. Me tuve que ir.

En cuanto a su dinero le recuerdo que nosotros no realizamos ningún cobro ya que usted le pagó directamente a su agencia intermediaria, App Expedia. Repito no nos pago a nosotros. Hotel was your basic 2-3 star hotel. Bathroom sink and toilet were very close to each other (cramped). Faucet was loose and moved when turning on and off water. Soap in dispenser next to sink was solid and not able to dispense any soap. Window was covered and did not provide much natural lighting. Room was located near the front of the hotel so was subject to traffic noise all night long. The included breakfast was basic, eggs, rice & beans, toast, some fruit, coffee and orange juice. Can order eggs cooked to your preference and pancakes. Front door is always locked and must ring doorbell to be let in and attendant must unlock door for you to leave the hotel.

Charming and perfect for our city stay near the airport. Great breakfast and coffee, TV and AC worked well, got a great night sleep, would return. Met fellow travelers and shared pictures of Beautiful Costa Rica and it's creatures.

Would classify this as a lovely hostel not a boutique hotel. Staff very helpful and considerate. Noisy area but quiet at night. Bed comfortable and room clean.

Muito barulho.
Gostaria de avaliar melhor o hotel, pq os Staffs eram muito educados e prestativos. Mas infelizmente está tendo uma construção no hotel ou no vizinho, antes das 07:00 da manhã já havia trabalhadores fazendo barulho como se fossem dentro do meu quarto, é pior que isso, não podíamos abrir a cortina pois eles estavam na laje em frente à minha janela, veriam tudo dentro do quarto! Isso me deixou extremamente irritado e insatisfeito, não voltaria no hotel!

Ok cute little place to start your costaricain trip if you want to stay in San José. Very well located with restaurants and groceries just at a walk distance. Clean and comfortable. Staff is very very kind, helpful and smily!

The trains! Hahaha!
The staff are friendly. Breakfast is ok. The trains that run behind the hotel starts around 430am-ish to 11pm and bothered me a bit(old trains,loud sirens). Good place to crash at night. Left my luggage there for a few days.

Es un hotel modesto ubicado a 32 dólares en taxi del aeropuerto. Llegando ahí el recibimiento es bueno. Muy amable tanto Ernesto como Julio. El desayuno bien El detalle fue con expedía que cobró dos personas Simpático y pintoresco hotel. Yo hubiese esperado más comodidad en las habitaciones Gracias

Hard bed but clean, well appointed budget hotel!
The owner and staff were great. For the price, it was a clean, well appointed room. Our only issue was the bed is really hard. The hardest we slept on our whole time in CR. The location was within walking distance of the museums and National Theater. I would recommend to others.

Como en casa
Todas las personas que trabajan en el hotel son súper atentas. Mi hija y yo, durante el transcurso del viaje por Costa Rica, hemos ido a alojarnos más de una vez a este hotel y era como volver a casa. Las habitaciones son amplias y muy limpias y el desayuno muy rico. Se puede ir al centro caminando sin ningun problema, dando un paseo.

Quiet, gracious, homey
This hotel doesn't aspire to be elegant, but it is clean, comfortable, and efficiently run. I was especially impressed by the personal and always cheerful treatment I received from every member of the staff.

Hotel con buenas instalaciones, de muy buen tamaño la habitación solo como punto malo no funciona el servicio de restaurantes lo que causa un poco de incomodidad.

La atención por parte del personal del hotel fue muy buena eso compensó el bullicio de los vehículos en nuestra habitación, si lo que se quiere es pasar la noche tranquilo Y seguro es muy bueno con respecto a la tarifa, pero si lo que se quiere es descansar recomiendo pedir habitación que no De a la calle.Las instalaciones son antiguas .

Comfortable and convenient
As expected the service is according to rate paid. All staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast was included and was served with fresh tropical fruits, juice, rice and beans, eggs,toast, coffee. Very good hotel located in a very nice neighborhood in San Jose. The internet signal quality have to improved, was intermittent not stable.

An older hotel in a good location.
Based on Expedia reviews I booked this hotel for 3 days. The location is excellent, the front desk staff is very responsive, it is is clean and the wifi good. However the hotel looks better in the photos than in the reality. It is an older hotel and everything in it appears to be original and probably at least 50 years old. It should have been renovated at least 20 years ago. There is no in room safe nor refri or minibar. The hotel advertises a "full" breakfast but one day the "full" breakfast was coffee and a small bean taco. The other two days it was Gallo Pinto (rice and beans) that tasted like it had been cooked earlier and just warmed up. The food was not fresh tasting. However , the hotel was quiet because it appeared that very few people were staying there.

Dear Guest: Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We have safe in our front desk, some of our rooms have refrigerator and A/C. For breakfast there is a variety of options but the most popular among our customers is the typical one: Gallo Pinto (a mix of rice, beans and spices). Aside that one we can also prepare scrambled eggs or omelettes, pancakes, "empanadas" (kind of taco, but not a taco) filled up with mashed beans and cheese or ham or vegetables, etc. Every option is served with a bowl of fruits and yogurt, toasted, jam, plenty coffee, tea or juice. Cozzy hotel close to San Jose
The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. If you want air conditioning you have to request it because only two rooms have air conditioning. The train pass behind the hotel so you will feel like the earth is trembling every time it crossed by. At night you can listen the cars and buses because the hotel is in front of Central Avenue. To me it was OK, I felt very secure and it was very clean. They give you a traditional breakfast called gallo pinto with coffee,fruits and yogurt.
