La Torre di Rua

This is a tower. Not a converted barn, not a farmhouse with character—an actual medieval tower, standing in the vineyard-covered hills above the Veneto plain, surrounded by the vines that produce some of Italy's finest Prosecco.

La Torre di Rua is located in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore region, an UNESCO World Heritage landscape since 2019. The family that owns the estate has been making wine here for generations, and their winery is right next door. You’ll sleep in the tower. You may leave with a few bottles.

THE SPACE
The tower spans multiple floors, with three bedrooms—one double, one queen, and one single—sleeping up to five guests. There are three bathrooms, including one full bathroom with a tub and shower. A fully equipped kitchen. A private garden and private parking. And at the top: a rooftop terrace with a panoramic view stretching across the entire Veneto plain—the Alps to the north, the Venice lagoon shimmering on the southern horizon on clear days.

THE SETTING
You are on the Strada del Prosecco e Vini, the oldest wine route in Italy. The vineyards surrounding you are the very same ones featured on UNESCO World Heritage maps. In the fall, when the harvest begins, the hills turn golden and the air is filled with the scent of grape must—this is one of the most beautiful places in northeastern Italy to visit in September and October.

Treviso is 27 km away. Venice is less than an hour away by car. The Dolomites are two hours north. The medieval town of Conegliano, with its castle and Cima frescoes, is 10 minutes away. Asolo—described by Robert Browning as the most perfect small town in the world—is 30 minutes away.
