'Where do I start on the wonderful stay we had at Hacienda del Sol? We arrived late for check in, but it was not a problem at all as the considerate staff at this wonderful B&B left instructions on how to get onsite, where to park (for free), and codes to the property and our room door. 'Fantastic location and a fantastic view of the grand vista that makes up the sand dunes and the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in the back drop. As a added bonus for birders the property has set up multiple humming bird feeders in front of the rooms and the 3 species that we saw at the feeders provide entertaintment all day. The park it self is 2 miles down the road making it easy to get to the park early for hikes and back in the room to beat the heat of the day (we were ther in July). Staff...

'1. We arrived and first impressions was the room was a bit outdated in decor but smelled clean. That and a decent bed were the only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1. 2. The desk chair was broken when we arrived. I called the front desk and the super came with a folding chair and left the broken one in the room anyway. 3. Lightbulb out in a lamp in the room.
