Booked room No Heating - Toilet Seat Poor Fixture - Toilet roll holder broken - Poor welcome tray - Public toilet urinal damaged- Adverse Weather Proprietor did not provide heating in the dining room. Hot air heater placed in to dining room near our table. Prompted up on blocks of wood.

The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with our allocated room. Service in the restaurant was great, and staff very friendly. They also helped to ensure that we had an early breakfast to allow us to get walking early in the day. We enjoyed our stay here.

This was a wonderful play to stay. We had been travelling for a long time and arrived at the hotel late. The staff were extremely accommodating including the kitchen staying open later for us, without question. The hotel is undergoing extensive renovations so that’s why I ranked that bit 1 point lower. In saying that the workers were lovely too, trying to be as accommodating as possible In trying conditions as it was pouring with rain

We were working locally and unfortunately had to leave before breakfast so the staff made us packed lunches instead which were lovely. Great place to stay and looking forward to coming back soon

Very good service and comfort
Came for a short weekend break. Arrived later than expected and restaurant was closed. We were however offered food which was really nice of them. Room was lovely and the staff very welcoming. Had a great meal on the second night. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel bet a lot requires updating. The 2 rooms I stayed in were very tired. Staff were excellent. Friendly and helpful. Food was just ok.

Comfortable stay
This is a hotel undergoing renovation and will be great when finished. Very friemdly staff and management and great at accommodating my specific dietey needs. Well done. Only snag a little note to let people know the switch for the shower is in the wall in the bedroom with the other switches .

Great Getaway
We spent 4 very comfortable nights in a really lovely room at the Nithsdale. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable with beautiful crisp white sheets and the bathroom was luxurious - better than most in more expensive accommodation. Food was lovely and staff very friendly.

Good!
We were lucky and had a newly renovated room that was really good. The restaurant was also newly renovated. It will be great when they have finished them. Breakfast was huge and yummy.

Very easy stay, despite the restrictions. Straight forward for the price, pack lunch breakfast was excellent - Great cheese sandwich! Some road noise and shower was v noisy

Lovely Family run hotel in a lovely area!
We had decided to visit Sanquhar and surrounding area to visit Crawick multiverse and also compiled some of the excellent geocaches in the area. So I pick this hotel for location. I have to say it exceeded our expectations! The service was fantastic, the food in the restaurant was lovely with lots of choice, and the breakfast had everything you needed. Covid policy’s were adhered yo with all staff wearing masks and sanitizer where needed. Lovely family run hotel in a lovely area, also good parking!!

fantastic, would go out of my way to stay here.
Our room was fantastic large with a large bathroom having spa bath, big shower, twin basins. The food was great and the staff very nice. They also have some lovely dogs.

Stay here alot for work as it's the only hotel in Sanquhar. Staff are freindly and attentive. Restaurant is quite good although menu could do with a refresh but if it's your first stay or just a couple of nights it's fine. Rooms are clean and tidy although some a little cramped, most have had a recent refit. All have TV & kettle as youd expect. Small bar which can get busy but I've never been disturbed by noise from it. Altogether not a bad place to stay in a lovely area

Warm & welcoming greeting on arrival. Although room was on the 2nd floor was offered a ground floor twin room which would have been available the following morning. Decided to stay in the orginal room but would definately ask for a ground floor room when booking, again. Ate in the restaurant the two nights of our stay and can say that both the standard of food served and the service provided, was exceptional.

A convenient hotel in town
I enjoyed my brief stay at the NIthsdale. I hope to return to Sanquhar and will again stay there. I ate a good dinner in the restaurant, and breakfast is included. I was to leave to catch a train the next day before the kitchen opened up, and they very kindly accommodated my schedule by serving me breakfast early. Everyone was cheerful and the room had amenities to make my stay comfortable.

Staff was wildly unenthused and very little help. After my stay, I lost my copy of the invoice and almost a month on I still can't get them to email another copy! Also breakfast was below average.

Nice friendly place to stya in Sanquhar
I stayed one night in the Nithsdale Hotel while on a cycling tour. I was very impressed by the friendly welcome at the hotel, and the service throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, but would benefit from a refurbishment - in fact, I understand that the owners are in the midst of refurbishing all of the bedrooms. The food was very good, with a huge and tasty breakfast just the thing to set us up for another day on the bike! We also enjoyed the evening meal at the hotel, and were delighted to discover that Thursday night is Curry Club night!

I had the worst stay here I think I have ever had at a hotel. The room was so hot but I couldn't have the windows open as the noise from the traffic outside (especially boy racers at midnight) was so loud I couldn't sleep. The bathroom was very nice but the room was dated and shabby. I ate in the restaurant in the evenings and, whilst the menu was not extensive, the food was ok. The service however was very good, particularly the waitress who was very attentive.
