I'm always a little leery of older homes in historical districts. It's been hit or miss, for me. Sometimes, I find places that are really nice with updated kitchens and baths, and other times I find places that are just...well...historical and older. This place was the former. It was updated in the areas that I like updated like baths and kitchens, while historical elements of the home such as hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, and original doors retained its rustic and beautiful historic qualities. I had my mother and my wife with me, and they are really tough to please. However, I was relieved when they ooohed and ahhhed over the interior design of the unit. Then there was the location. I was afraid that I would have to fight for parking spaces, but there was ample parking available right in front of the unit. It is perfectly located just outside of the crowed downtown area, but close enough to walk to downtown. The place made for a great weekend. We will definitely be back.
