Hood Canal Solitude
Great location right on the water. Home is how its described by the owner. Kitchen was really well stocked, bathrooms were very clean and it had everything one needs for a great stay.

Beautiful view, quiet location
My family has stayed on Hood Canal before, but this was the first time we stayed in this house. We new the house was old and had some quirkiness in advance, which was fine with us. What we loved: - The view of the Olympics. This is the crown jewel of the property. - Oysters: we harvested some from the beach and they were really good! - Wildlife: We saw deer up close multiple times and saw bald eagles. - Kitsap Lake: Beautiful nearby lake (20 minute drive) where our kids caught a couple of trout off the dock. - Very quiet. Unlike where we’ve stayed before, there isn’t a main road right behind the house. The place is really quiet, which is great for relaxing. What could be improved: - The master bedroom was beautifully decorated, but the mattress was uncomfortable for two adults. I slept okay, but my wife got a sore back. - The kids did not want to sleep in the basement. It was cold and scary to them, so they slept on the couch/chairs upstairs. - The dining room light fixture is very bright and puts out a cold light. While it is adequate for seeing, it isn’t a warm, natural light. Overall we liked the place, but don’t plan to stay there again. We prefer the other side of Hood Canal, which has more things we like to do.

Another Amazing Stay
It felt like we were coming home! This is our second stay and we couldn't have made a better choice with how we spent the Holidays. I really appreciated all of the Christmas decorations they included-again it felt so homey. The owners are excellent and very professional. There is plenty of room here so please consider giving this property a visit!

Astounding View from every room!
As pulling in the driveway there were 3 deer walking along the beach. Then otters, seals, eagles and more were present during our stay! The Cottage was so comfy & cozy and every amenity needed!

Thanksgiving gathering
We gathered for the long Thanksgiving weekend. 4 spent the nights & additional family joined us for dinners & games. It's a very comfortable, nice home with spectacular views of Hood Canal & the Olympic Mountains. Beds were comfy, & kitchen was well stocked. Best Birthday Present
Whoa! I celebrated a very important birthday at this lovely property and my husband and I are so overcome with joy with the quality of our stay. We saw deer, eagles and more! The place is so spacious and highly enjoyable during October. This will not be our last stay!

Weekend getaway
A cozy place to get away over a fall weekend. We enjoyed the solitude and quiet, the view over the water, and a crackling fire in the large fireplace. We found nice walking trails in nearby Guillemot Cove during the day. Overall a great taste of the Hood Canal and Kitsap peninsula.

House needs a lot of work to be safe.
I do not understand the requirements to be a VRBO rental! The portion of the house past the basement wall has sunken a couple of inches. Some kitchen cabinets were hard to open and the counter tilted to the outer wall. The basement smelled musky and mold was a concern. My husband slipped on the outside steps which do not have grip strips. View was awesome but not enough to go back.

Fabulous place…the only bump in the road was a wasp nest under the deck that limited our time on the deck. Otherwise we had a wonderful anniversary there.

One of My Favorites
This is the second time that I have stayed at this property and will hopefully be able to come annually for years to come! The house is extremely clean and cozy with everything you could ever need! The view is breathtaking from the beautiful top deck! Highly Recommended

Five Star View From the Deck
This is a older beach house located right on Hood Canal with a grand view of the Olympics. Across the water you can see The Brothers and very few signs of habitation. We sat on the deck one evening and saw a pod of porpoises swim by. There was also a flock of ducks feeding, fish jumping, and kayakers. The house is decorated with a nautical motief inside, and was furnished very tastefully. Both beds were very comfortable. The house had lots of blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies. The kitchen was equipped with a good selection of condiments and excellent cooking equipment. The only shower was very tight and we suggest putting a shower in the larger bathroom which only has a bath tub. This is a good location for observing the eagles in May and June at Big Beef Creek which is only a 5-10 min drive away.

Perfect getaway!
Our family needed a place to decompress and this was the perfect spot. Comfortable home with everything you need (good beds, well stocked kitchen, etc.) in a great location. We loved all of the outdoor spots - the upper & lower decks have comfortable furniture, umbrellas for when it is sunny, and incredible views. Would definitely return!

Great waterfront property!!
Great place to stay if you want stunning views in the area. Alot of wildlife (eagles, seals, dolphins) right in front of you. Owners are very transparent regarding the type of neighborhood and age of the home. Would stay again! Only note would be that is was tough having only a shower stall.This just coming from two women with a lot of hair. The other bathroom is just a tub, no shower head.

Winter retreat
My husband and I came up to spend Thanksgiving with the family. I have been trying to talk him into moving back to the area. I miss the woods, the elevation, the rain and the water. This cozy little house provided all. The owners were kind enough to leave the porch lights on for us since they knew we were driving up from California. The house is tucked away from any busy roads and all you can hear is the waves of the bay lapping across the shore. Opening the door through the carport enters you through to the kitchen. You are treated with modern appliances and every kitchen gadget you could need. It is seriously the best stocked kitchen I have ever rented. Around the massive fireplace is the living space. Dinning room to the right and couches to the left. Behind each is a large set of windows with a perfect view of the Olympic Mountains. The upstairs also contains a bedroom with a queen bed with more gorgeous views and two bathrooms, one with an itty bitty shower and the other with a bathtub. Downstairs has another fireplace, couch and toys and the second bedroom with a queen bed. Both floors have access to the beach. While we didn’t spend too much time out there I did observe that there was plenty of seating and grill. The only two things that I wish I new before hand is that due to the age of the house not all of the rooms are equipped with locking door knobs. Also the temperature downstairs is dramatically cooler than the upstairs. Which wouldn’t be an issue in the summer but in November was not the ideal time to be downstairs. The owners were nice to work with, very accommodating.

Beautiful Peaceful Relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay. The home is located right on Hood Canal. We spent hours on the deck and on the shoreline enjoying the sound of the water and the view across the canal of the Olympic mountain range. We launched our 2 person inflatable kayak right in front of the house and had a couple wonderful early morning paddles up and down the shoreline. The house has all the kitchen utensils, pots, pans and dishes you will need. We prepared several meals. The owners were very attentive, answered all of our questions quickly and were very helpful.

I have never heard such quiet in my life. Early mornings with coffee and that view, watching the eagles and the seals…so relaxing. This home is equipped with everything you could possibly need and working and communicating with Mike was so easy and very informative!

Picturesque setting with wonderful views. Quiet area to enjoy the solitude from the back deck. Neighbors on both sides but rarely heard a peep from them. Grandkids loved hunting for abundant seashells. Deer and raccoons liked it too!

Million Dollar View
The house is cozy and charming. However, the view is a million dollar view. We saw seals, dolphins, bald eagles, and hummingbirds every day on the deck. We could not have asked for more. This is an older charming beach house that is well used and loved so if you are looking for a modern sterile home, this is not that place. However, it had all the amenities we needed. We loved it and relaxed on the deck for hours. There are some quirks to the house but it is exactly as presented and as the pictures show. I would definitely rent again.

The property is absolutely beautiful!!! Although houses are in close proximation of each other, there was no issue with "busy bodies". The property is right on the water. Every day we were there (8 days) we saw sea life (seals, otters, and even an Eagle landed on the rale of the porch)! It was a fantastic experience for our family. The house is well maintained for its age. The property manager was so helpful and answered emails very quickly. It was a perfect!!

When we first pulled up to this house in Seabeck, we noticed how quiet it was. The only sound was the lapping of water on the shore. Very sweet home with a killer view. We hope to return in the future.

Heavenly View
Perfect view of the water and the mountains!! Just what we were hoping for. The house is well equipped in the kitchen and has nice sheets and towels and the mattress is good. . But the windows don’t open because they have not been updated since 1950’s!! Between 4 and 8:30 pm the sun is shining right into the deck and the house. It gets really uncomfortable on hot days. There is no air conditioning and the although there are shades and a couple of small fans but they are not adequate at all. As a result, it is hot and unpleasant for all of the evening hours, and even after the sun goes down the house won’t cool down until around 11 pm. If there were windows that would open, this house wouldn’t take so long to cool down and we could have slep better. That was unfortunate!

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you were uncomfortable on hot days. Just to clarify, both bedrooms and bathrooms each have a window, with screens, that can be opened. In addition, there are 3 exterior doors upstairs, and 1 downstairs (daylight basement), that all have screen doors so they can be opened for airflow as well. There are exterior shades on the deck that can be dropped down to limit the heat coming in from direct afternoon sunlight.

This is a special place
We had a very pleasant 2 night stay here. The house is cozy, welcoming and relaxing. There is a very cool rustic fishing cottage vibe. Its an older home that feels like it carries a local history, but of course there are also modern amenities. Everything is super clean and fresh. The view is nothing short of spectacular, especially with the sunset over Mt. Jupiter lighting up Hood Canal. We spent much of our time just enjoying the spacious deck and patio area overlooking the water. And of course, its a great spot to paddle board and kayak with lots of underwater life to see. The beach is a fantastic sea-run cutthroat location--a small craft is nice to get you off the shallow beach and allow you to explore. The host is informative, gracious and accessible. There are very clear instructions on how to find and access the property, and how to operate systems/items in the home. We owe him a screen door after my son accidentally walked into it and he was very understanding. In summary, I would very much like stay here again. Its a great spot.

Girls weekend!!
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful girls weekend! Picking and cooking oysters right out the back door was so much fun! Loved the view from the house and we even had some local visitors!!!(deer eagle sea otter) the house was so cute and had everything you could need from spices cooking utensils to curling irons!!! My wife, my sister and I stayed a wonderful week at this home and celebrated birthdays with the spectacular views. We had visits from seals, an eagle family and even a deer in the yard. We explored, grilled and played games. It was SO relaxing! Located in a very quiet area, just what we were looking for. The views are absolutely outstanding! Our 7 yr. old fell in love with the “Secret Hideaway” aka downstairs. He had fun playing with the duplos and other toys which were so thoughtfully provided. Cozy shelter from the storm
This beach house was comfortably quirky, with cozy thoughtfulness seen in every room. I especially appreciated all the warm, cuddly blankets, the large upstairs fireplace and stocked wood and the lighting for every nook and cranny. The view would have been top billing except for the fact that we had solid clouds and rain for the vast majority of our stay. We weren't able to enjoy the sitting/eating/lounging options on the deck enjoying a sunrise or sunset. But we were very glad that there were windows from every room looking out toward the water so we could enjoy the soft, grey loveliness from the welcoming indoors. Excellent and quick communications from the owner and smooth, easy stay.

Very memorable stay!
The views of the sound and the Olympic mountains are amazing! One of the best locations we have ever experienced! Mike describes his house as old and quirky. That’s exactly what it is. If you enjoy that like we do, it is awesome. Add collecting oysters on the beach and frying them on your beach fire - you have an unforgettable stay!

Serene location.
Quiet, peaceful location. Plenty of outside seating to view the water and Olympic peninsula. Would have been nice to open the vertical blinds to the side to see the view from inside the house. That was disappointing. No bathroom downstairs, inconvenient. We would go back again though as a great place to relax and rewind.

Rest & Relaxation
Our drive in was half an hour early and we caught a glimpse of a few deer. To let the lady finish cleaning, we decided to check out Scenic State Park by foot which was about 12 mins walk, but not before checking out the exterior property. By golly is it ever beautiful! Then to be able to walk to a State Park! It was a lovely stroll... Totally recommend since there is nowhere else to really walk to. This property is a very quiet residence, therefore partying here is a no go. Albeit if you are looking for peace and tranquility this is the perfect spot!
