This was a cozy little home very close to absolutely everything we love about the Oregon Coast. We did not try walking to the beach from the house. But, it was an incredible location and very well stocked with everything we needed. Large beautiful yard, comfortable beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Perfect size for three adults and our furry friends. Centrally located to wide beautiful Driftwood Beach and tide pools, Newport, Waldport and great food at LunaSea restaurant. Would stay here again. Entire process was simple and easy. We felt comfortable with our dogs and, again, location was absolutely perfect.

Cannot easily walk to beach. You have to cross busy Hwy 101, beach access is steep, not easy to negotiate for older people. House has the essentials, quiet. Could use a screen door as house gets warm. No major complaints. Thanks

The property was located in a nice quiet part of seal rock. We liked the privacy. The house needs a few updates; the front room blinds were a little damaged and we didn't do that. The house is not new and refurbished but it is nice and comfortable. Plenty of bed sheets and blankets. Plenty of cookware, towels, paper goods. Beds are comfy. Bathroom is small but adequate for two people. Refrigerator and storm work find. Overall, a nice place.

Very relaxing for pups and us. Private and peaceful.Discovered a lovely beach just down the road, Driftwood Beach. Great for strolls.

Great little house!

Super cute, big yard, all the things in all the cupboards, we had a great stay and we didn't need anything more. Very happy with all of it. Thank you for a great stay.

The property is walkable to the beach and restaurants, but you have to cross the highway to get to the beach. Good location, just a short drive to either Newport or Waldport. Great restaurants either way, fun shops. Some reviews comment on the carpet, but we had dogs along and happy with clean and comfortable.Only comment is that we didn't know trash was valet, they handle it. I'd have like to known that, and to have some large can liners. Otherwise we'd stay here again.

Cozy Life

Just the right size for us and dog. Great yard, 5 minute drive to several beaches, covered porch so we could sit outside in the rain, close to everything going on in several towns up the coast. Property manager answered right away when I had a question, just all around cozy cottage. We will definitely stay here again!

Great quiet location for stargazing!

Wonderful little two bedroom house with a nice Hollowell family connection. Short walk to Seal Rock beach and local shops cafes. Especially nice is Karl's wood bear carvings. Could use a picnic table in the yard but otherwise perfect!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was pretty cramped for three adults, but generally worth the advertised price. It was clean and it was adequately stocked. There were a couple issues.First, the instructions for entering need to be more specific. There is an easily-visible dial type padlock on a side door and you will think that the code is to this padlock. It is not. Instead, tucked behind a rail is a lockbox with a key in it. The code opens that.Second, the only windows that open are in the bedrooms and in the summer sun things get hot. There's something that looks to be an air conditioner attached to a wall, but there were no instructions and none of the buttons on it seemed to do anything.

Inside the oyster

House is very well equipped. Toys for the beach were available for our grandson. Even though this is a dog friendly rental, there was no animal sign. Large yard. The BBQ was an added plus. The bedrooms were at opposite ends of the house, which seemed more private. We were a short walk to the beach. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Week at the beach!

Our granddaughters had a blast in the upstairs room while my wife and I enjoyed the big one off of the kitchen. Kitchen very well equipped, we ate almost all of our meals there. Very clean, very well kept. We had a great time, loved the cottage and sharing the coast with our granddaughters, one of which saw the ocean for the first time. Beaches within easy walking distance for a five year old! We highly recommend Heron Beach Cottage!

Small cottage about 10 minutes walk from Seal Rock. Large grassy yard for dog to run around in and porch for outdoor eating. Kitchen has no dishwasher but lots of cooking implements. The bedrooms have no place to hang up clothes. The large step down into the master bedroom needs to be re-engineered into two steps that meet code. The chairs for the kitchen dining table are extremely uncomfortable and need to be replaced with chairs that have some cushioning. Plenty of beach paraphernalia, including towels, chairs, toys, etc. There are lots of kids games, books, etc for hanging out in the house. Don’t go on July: it was foggy the entire time and blowing on the beach 10-20 mph continuously . Wait until AugSept. Had to wear multiple layers and jacket to enjoy walking on beaches.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Front stairs are concrete, uneven and tilted, entry to bedroom by bathroom is NOT LABELLED as hazardous and should be. Repeated entry down to that room continues to offer unsteadiness. A lawsuit is in the future, and probably really injuring some klutz like me! PLEASE go look at the situation before someone gets really hurt.Photos of the entry to bedroom by bathroom are available, not sure I sent to you today? This is a serious risk there, that you cannot see coming, and also the from stairs. Someone is going to be hurt more than I already was. Kathryn
