I can’t say enough about this property! It was located about halfway between Pigeon Forge and Townsend—about 20/25 min to each. The drive to both was beautiful. We went in to PF for a couple of dinners, but spent most of our stay in the National Park and Townsend. The beauty of this area is unparalleled. The house was a perfect home base for our family. The driveway was a little scary the first time (as were all the roads in the region for us city-dwelling northerners!), but we didn’t need to use 4wd to get up. The home was exceptionally clean and well care for. I enjoyed the books about the history of the area. Beds were comfy and we used the pull out couches, pool table, hot tub, washer dryer, and soaking tub! Everything worked well! Water pressure was great. We enjoyed relaxing on the second floor deck with rocking chairs and swing! We saw bears from the house a few times which was really exciting! It may have been the same bear more than once, but we still counted it! One checked out our cars and the grill and then left for the woods! The neighborhood was clean and quiet. You might be able to see neighbors during the winter, but we felt secluded. Recommend river swimming at the Townsend Wye or Metcalf Bottoms. Both about 20 minute drives away. Enjoyed tubing with River Rat, knife forging with Circle Bar T, cave tour at Tuckaleechee, and a drive along foothills parkway. Our host Jennie was helpful and easy to communicate with. Wonderful family vacation!
