This charming three-storey chalet in the beautiful village of Seytroux, in the Portes du Soleil, sleeps 14 guests in seven bedrooms, with five bathrooms. If you're looking for access to great skiing, walking and hiking during the day, and a peaceful haven to retreat to in the evenings, it's an ideal choice.
There's a popular restaurant, bar and a village shop within a 10-minute walk of Chalet Levant Blanc, with more facilities in Morzine (13km) and St Jean d'Aulps (5km), where you'll find your nearest ski lifts.
The chalet is perfect for groups of families or different generations, with three bedrooms and a second summer kitchen on the ground floor, a further bedroom on the first floor, and three more bedrooms on the top floor - it means that two groups can each have their own privacy and even eat separately if they wish, but there's plenty of room to get together in the generous living area and games room.
Chalet Levant Blanc has superb mountain views, and a garden, part of which is enclosed to make it safe for young children and pets. The hot tub, on a shady private terrace at the back of the chalet, is the perfect place to relax under the stars in the winter, or while away a long summer evening.
There's a garage for one car and parking for three more, as well as a ski store where you can leave your outdoor gear. The last 15m of the drive is fairly steep but is regularly cleared of snow by the neighbours.
With seven bedrooms and five bathrooms over three floors, there's plenty of room at Chalet Levant Blanc for up to 14 guests. Recently renovated, the owners have given the chalet a real home from home feeling, with individually designed bedrooms and plenty of places where you can get together or find your own space.
When you enter on the ground floor, you'll find three of the seven bedrooms - a master bedroom with a kingsize bed and an en suite shower room, and a double bedroom and bunk room which share a separate shower room. There's also an open plan area that opens on the terrace, the petanque court, and the garden where you will find a fully equipped summer kitchen. There is also a dining table that can be used as a pool table, and a games room that includes a dartboard. Young children will particularly enjoy the swings and the trampoline.
Take the stairs up to the main living area on the first floor, where there's plenty of seating for everyone to get together to watch a film or catch up on the day's events around the fireplace. The spacious well-equipped kitchen has several ovens, an automatic coffee machine, a wine store, a dishwasher, a large fridge-freezer and a hob to make cooking for a crowd a breeze. There's a breakfast bar at the central island as well as a large dining table, where you can all sit down to eat while you enjoy the splendid views.
If you'd rather eat outside, the furnished terrace has a barbecue and a plancha grill. After dinner, why not relax in the hot tub under the stars and enjoy the wonderful peace and quiet? With no neighbours behind the chalet, your privacy is assured.
There's a games and TV room on this floor with a Wii console, books and games, and a large bedroom with a super-kingsize bed. This room has an en suite shower room which can also be accessed from the corridor. There's a useful work station in the corridor, too, where you can catch up on emails.
There are three more bedrooms on the top floor: two rooms which can be arranged with twin or super-kingsize beds and a wonderful master suite, with a super-kingsize bed, a dressing room and an en suite shower and bathroom. This room also has access to its own balcony where you can savour that first morning coffee.
The wide landing on this floor has been designed as a chill zone, with plenty of room to roll out your yoga mat.
ABOUT THE AREA ...
The beautiful village of Seytroux is a great base for exploring the wonderful skiing, biking and walking in the Portes du Soleil. Chalet Levant Blanc is just 12 minutes drive from the popular ski resort of Morzine as well as the Ardent lift in Montriond, which will whisk you up to Avoriaz.
Families skiing with small children may find all the challenge they need in St Jean d'Aulps, which has 16 lifts, 50km of pistes and a ski school.
There are some wonderful walks around the village and peaks in the summer - a marked path runs directly behind the chalet. The village also has a leisure park with mini golf, a mountain bike trial area, volleyball court and children's games. It's just a 10-minute walk to the river, where there's a safe swimming area.
Seytroux is just 1hr 20 minutes drive from Geneva airport.
