{Big Timbers} Cabin next to North Entrance to Itasca State park

Located less than a 1/4 mile from the North Entrance of Itasca State Park. This is our restored cabin called "The 1902" of Big Timbers (there is a four unit motel adjacent to the cabin). Stay here to enjoy all the amenities that Itasca State Park has to offer! Not only will you be able to enjoy Itasca State Park, Big Timbers is located approximately 30 miles from Bagley, Bemidji, and Park Rapids. This is the perfect location for your next stay!

More about the cabin:
The cabin was originally built in 1902 just down the road. We tore it down and moved it to our property and completely restored it. There is a loft with a queen bed, a living room with a full futon, full bath and full kitchen. It can sleep up to four people, but note that it includes 1 queen bed and 1 pull out futon in the living room.

We enjoyed our stay. It was a great location with easy access to Itasca. It was quiet and quaint. Loved sitting out on the porch in the mornings and evenings enjoying the view of the trees and listening to the birds. We did have a problem with quite a few flies in the house, but the host was responsive and brought us a fly swatter. But overall, we loved the place. The bugs were definitely not a deal breaker, just a minor annoyance. Would definitely recommend this cabin to others visiting the area

We always love our stay at Big Timbers near Itaska Park. The cabin is very cozy and welcoming with a wonderful history. We love that our pups are able to come along as well. There is so much to do in Itaska Park and area but we come to visit our granddaughters now. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back.

This beautifully restored cabin, is off a quiet county road tucked in a grove of tall pine trees . A perfect setting for a walk down the small private road and enjoy the sound of birds and the breeze.Inside the cabin (open floor plan) the kitchen had a large wooden island stocked with cookware and utensils, a farmhouse style sink and retro refrigerator and electric range. Beware stepping into the bathtub/shower, itโ€™s slick and could us some no skid strips or a bath mat.The open staircase had cable railings, which kept the open-air feeling and led to the sleeping loft above. Simply furnished with a queen-sized bed, and an upholstered chair w/ottoman. The rafters are low-pitched so caution standing up out of bed!The main living room had a sturdy log frame futon that converted into a full-sized bed. Loved the bent-wood rocking chair and repurposed desk that worked comfortably as a small table for 2.The lantern type lighting fixtures throughout the cabin seemed dim at night, consider adding a floor lamp or a small table lamp for reading?Thereโ€™s a full porch, with a wicker table & chairs on one end, but my favorite was the antique cast-iron bench perfect for reading or watching a momma robin fly to her nest to feed her chick in a nest just above rafters Thereโ€™s easy access to the North entrance to Itasca Park and the Mississippi Headwaters. We kayaked, hiked & rented a pontoon boat in the park.And our hosts checked in with us to ensure we had a comfortable stay!

Beautiful property! Thankfully the owner was in the store to get information from as the app was not working properly and we were having trouble getting the access code. That was the only glitch. We would definitely stay there again and have highly recommended staying there.

Perfect anniversary getaway

We loved our stay! Many plus points for us - the serenity, location, seclusion, charm. And Christine, our host, was warm and friendly and quick to respond to our questions. We spent our days exploring Itasca State Park and nearby towns like Bemidji, Walker and Park Rapids. So glad we didn't book just another chain hotel for this trip. Cabin in the pines

Love the secluded feeling you get nestled in the pine trees, always a favorite place of ours. We love the rustic feel while still having modern conveniences. Our third time visiting, I am sure we will be back again.
