Tettegouche blokhut North Shore Lake Superior met sauna

Handgeschreven blokhut zat hoog op een klif met uitzicht op Lake Superior. Omgeven door grote rode en witte dennen, het is echt het 'land van de dennen'. Leun achterover op het dek of in de grote veranda en bekijk de schepen die uit Silver Bay Harbor komen en gaan. Enorm uitzicht op het meer en Palisade Head. Zeer privé en rustig.

Veel te doen, in de buurt van Tettegouche en Split Rock staatsparken en Silver Bay Marina. Uitstekende watervallen, dooprivier, zwemmen, wandelen, vissen, fietsen, bergbeklimmen, zeilen, varen, kajakken, de lijst gaat maar door ...
of een perfecte plek om te zitten en te genieten van het uitzicht en helemaal niets te doen.

Winterseizoen brengt een geheel nieuwe reeks van activiteiten en landschappen. De met sneeuw bedekte witte dennen met het blauwe water van Lake Superior is geweldig! We hebben een zoete duifstaart houtgestookte sauna. Er zijn verschillende geweldige langlaufloipes in de buurt, waaronder Tettegouche State Park, waar u kunt skiën in een oud jachtkamp met verschillende blokhutten en een mooie lodge. Je kunt lunchen en een vuurtje maken in de open haard. Er is ook de Northwoods Ski Trail in Silver Bay en Flathorn-Gegoka in Isabella, om er maar een paar te noemen.

Er is een koningin en een tweepersoonsbed op de zolder met een enorm dakraam voor sterrenkijken en bliksemstormen. Het scherm veranda wordt 's nachts een veranda met een futon en neerklapbare tinten, er is ook een comfortabele futon in de woonkamer.

Centraal gelegen aan de North Shore slechts 50 mijl naar Grand Marais, 58 mijl naar Duluth of 50 mijl naar Ely en de grenswateren. De Silver Bay Marina ligt op slechts zes mijl afstand. Superior wandelpad is een kwart mijl.

Honeymoon with a view

Lovely, tranquil escape

Thank you for another lovely visit! We enjoyed daily hikes up and down the coast, investigating a few new spots to change things up. Perfect Christmas gift for parents

We gifted our parents a stay at Shawn & Edward's property for the second time now for Christmas. They both came back saying it was incredibly relaxing and cozy, they enjoyed the proximity to North Shore sights like Split Rock lighthouse, the Onion River, and other hiking trails, and the sauna was wonderful. I know they would love to come back.They also really enjoyed their interactions with Shawn & Edward and were thankful for their warm welcome. Great Winter Cabin!

My partner and I had a lovely stay at this beautiful Cabin. It was very peaceful and beautiful at the property and everything was in good condition and clean. We loved the wood fire sauna and wood stove in the cabin, made for a cozy stay! Highly recommend!

Time for two sisters to reconnect

We loved the setting - the view of the water and the surrounding woods with the perfect clearing for a campfire. And we loved the simple and thoughtful design of the cabin and its furnishings that made it easy to relax and rejuvenate. On our last night, the clouds blew away and we could stare at the stars through the cabin windows.

Great views from on top of the bluff

Loved being there. The place was very clean and loved the outdoor decks and screened in porch. Water pressure was great. WIFI was perfect. Kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware's. Ed and Shawn were good at communication. The surrounding are is beautiful. We went to Grand Marias (50 miles) and had a great time poking around town and going to dinner. Definately would sstay here again.

Charming cabin with a great view!

We loved our stay at the Tettegouche Log Cabin! It is a very lovely, charming cabin true to the photos. Very private, great location, and the views of Lake Superior are wonderful. We really enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch and using the front deck. This cabin inspires me want to build my own log cabin! I also really enjoyed the books the owners have on-site for the location. I used the waterfalls of the north shore to find several waterfalls I had never been to. Our only feedback was the refrigerator/freezer was dripping water onto our food and created some puddles inside. I am only sharing in case it needs to be fixed or looked at. We would definitely stay here again!

Late Summer Getaway

Shawn was an awesome host and the listing was accurate. We worried that the kitchen might be a challenge, but in reality we had everything we needed. The spiral stairs up to the sleeping loft were intimidating to us 70yo guests, but we managed to make it work! You should know that the only TV in this property is in the sleeping loft and it doesn’t really accommodate adults watching tv. Also the furniture in the living space is well-loved and not very comfortable if you’re hanging out reading books on a rainy day. Part of that is due to the fact that one of the pieces is a futon, so it sits very deep and firm. We enjoyed our stay but wished for more comfortable furniture.

Beautiful, peaceful cabin

The cabin was gorgeous and it was so quiet and peaceful among the trees. Had a few fun (and safe) experiences with a black bear around the property as it explored. Shawn was always responsive and helpful!

VERY Secluded Cabin on Bluff

Beautiful, quite area about 1hr north of Duluth. Cabin is very impressive, hand built by property owners. Amazing views of Lake Superior, small lakeside towns are just a short drive away. Odd property as base of bluff, not sure what's going on there, but it looks like it's up for sale. If you're looking for some peace and quite away from it all, this cabin definitely is the place to be!
