Positief: Netheid, voorzieningen en staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
We are repeat visitors to the Ascott Raffles Place Hotel. The rooms are spacious with lots of amenities—a small but complete kitchen with a Nespresso coffee makers, a cooktop, microwave, a washer-dryer combo, and a large refrigerator. The decor in the room is rather plain but it is clean, comfortable, and functional. The staff is excellent and always helpful. I did have some problems at times with spotty internet, and the staff was very responsive and even came up to the room to assist and get it up and running again at 10 p.m. The A/C cooled well, but the thermostats they have don’t shut it off when the room reaches the set temperature so at times it was too cold with the AC continually running. That said, it was better than the alternative as Singapore gets very hot and muggy. The location is great—literally next door to the Raffles Place metro. We could walk to many of the tourist spots from the hotel. It is in a business district, so there are not a ton of restaurants right around the hotel, and on weekends many of the places close down. Keep that in mind if you are not eating breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast was rather expensive, but we enjoyed the assortment of food offered. They had eggs to order (which unfortunately were just so-so), cereals, pastries, and toast as well as many hot dishes that were almost like lunch/dinner items—chicken, potatoes, vegetables, spring rolls, noodle dishes, salad, etc. The offerings changed daily which was great.
