Klein maar schoon.
Te kleine kamer, practisch geheel ingenomen door 2 persoons bed. Twee koffers niet te hanteren daardoor. Douche, wc, wastafel binnen 2 vierkante meter: dus erg krap. De kamer is wel schoon. Geen extra deken, de airco was niet te reguleren. De twee tandenborstels waren wel erg practisch. Warm watervoorziening is erg goed. Beddegoed is wel schoon. Geen kastruimte, misschien heeft men bewust deze kamer aan ons toegewezen omdat we maar 1 nacht bleven. Het is eigenlijk te duur voor wat je krijgt.

I stayed for more than 1 week, solo female traveller. Needs Improvement - As to my room, needs to fix the hot shower. It does not get warm or hot even after 10mins of flowing water. Waste of water. Toilet is wet everywhere when you take shower. The facility seems also being used for 2-3hours stay for quickies. Good points - Safe. As solo female traveller, I feel safe even if I return to hotel late night. Service - with minimal interactions I had, their staff are helpful. Nearby Raffles City Mall and MRT.

Location good, but smoke odor too overwhelming
This is a very basic inn, as expected when booked. The location is good and right in the downtown Bugis shopping area, and not far from the Marina Bay. The shower area is shared with the toilet (without shower curtain partition) - not totally unexpected. This is advertised as a smoke-free hotel, but the smell of smoke was so overwhelming - the worst experience of any hotel stay I've had.

Our flight got in at 8 am.. got to the hotel at 9:30 ish… staff informed that at 11 they would check us in. It was great as we had a long flight.

Overpriced, Tiny Room, With Weird Shower
My room was better suited for a monk than a world traveler, with the shower not separated in any way, causing me to hold the spray carefully so I didnt flood the room. Almost impossible. That said, the staff was helpful, one even directing me to a nearby garage with pay laundry machines. The area was good, near restaurants, a mall and metro. Plus, the famed Raffles hotel was only a 10 minute walk away. I'd missed seeing the hotel, undergoing a renovation when I was there 5 years ago. Singapore is very expensive, so I was confused about the quality of what I was getting. Compared to other Asian hotels, I got much more quality elsewhere for similar prices. If you don't mind Spartan living, this may be for you. But not for me.

Budget hotel even though its fairly pricey. Clean sheets but everything else in the room is tatty and worn. No window and smells damp. Tiny bathroom, you can sit on the toilet and have a shower which soaks everything in the bathroom. Short walk to transport, local eateries and shopping centre

Great location and friendly staff. The building is older, but that met my expectations given the price. The reason for the poor review was the cleanliness of the room. There was dust on the desk, and handprints on the mirror. Worse yet, there were numerous long hairs on the bathroom floor. It made me question if any cleaning at all was done, which made my stay pretty uncomfortable.

Below average, a bit run-down and the hotel could really use some upgrading work. The staff and the service were pretty good though, plus the location is quite central, accessible to Bugis MRT station, and tons of eateries.

Satisfied in Singapore
Hotel 81 Bugis, is an affordable alternative in a city of much pricier options. The hotel was clean and relatively quiet. The staff were professional and helpful no matter the time of day. The entire bathroom doubles as a shower, which was a first for me. The AC works wonderfully, sometimes too well, but it certainly beats the alternative in Singapore's hot climate. An electrical outlet nearer the bed would be nice. Easy to get to the metro too. I would certainly stay here again.

a really bad choice to book this place.
Oh man where do I begin? First of all that is a fraudulent claim this hotel was a SG Clean certified, this place was far from it, it was infested with ants, the vents were covered with black mold, causing my family to fall ill and get sick. They only give you 1 old fashioned room key which made it difficult if you have multiple people going in and out of the room, there were no shower, just a spray nozzle near the floor, which made the entire bathroom very wet and slippery and hazardous, surprised they haven't been sued yet. The hotel is in a prime location, but its far from clean and far from modern, do yourself a favor and do not book here.

A slum
There is no way this hotel is SG Clean. There was no official sign on the door like other SG Clean hotels have. There were drain flies in my bathroom and ants in the other room that my family were staying in. The vents are dirty. Mold all over the bathroom. The hotel needs updating badly. When you shower the water seeps out between the door jamb into the hall. The maids only change the sheets and towels, but don't clean anything else. The surfaces on furniture is all stained. Hand prints on the mirror. We had to stay the whole stay, because all nearby hotels were booked up due to an event so we were trapped.

Disappointing
Including Hotel 81 Bugis, I have tried 3 Hotel 81 hotels at different locations. For the room condition, none was satisfying. Talking about Hotel 81 Bugis, the room is dusty and mouldy at some places. Lumps of dust are visible at the edges of the wall art next to the bed. I wonder how can the hotel claimed to be SG Clean. Not clean for famiy stay especially with children. It is worth paying abit more for the 2 hotels near Hotel 81 Bugis. I will not consider Hotel 81 brand again.

We stayed in a window room for a few days. Was great for the price. No issues with the accomodation. Reception staff were helpful and friendly, leant us an umbrella in the rain, gave directions and called taxis etc as needed. Accomodation is good, next to a 7/11 and shopping centres, restaurants on the next street over. Would stay again.

I guess you get what you pay for
The rooms really need a dehumidifier. The a/c couldn’t be left on 24/7, so moisture formed on the floors and bedding. The room was also windowless.
