I tried to not leave a review but am being pestered by text, email, and app, so I will answer the question of how our experience was. I don’t want to judge a full hotel by one employee, but I’m writing about her as she made up 90% of our interaction with staff.
The lady who checked us in refused to take our confirmation number, multiple times, and instead proceeded to ask negatively-aimed questions at us again and again, such as “when did you make the reservation?” with a tone that implied that we did not have a reservation. We calmly answered the questions for several minutes, and eventually she resigned herself to the fact that we had a reservation.
When I asked how we may avoid this problem in the future, she shared that she could have looked it up with the confirmation number. She is probably nice in the normal round of things, but it was not our experience when we arrived, tired from several days of travel.
One thing I appreciated about the hotel was that they were welcoming Sturgis riders by offering a basket of cloths to wipe down their bikes. I’m not a motorcyclist, but I thought that was very sweet.
