    Dit appartement ligt in het hart van het centrum van Sitka, naast de Sint-Michielskathedraal, op loopafstand van alles wat u nodig heeft; restaurants, winkels, bars, havens, supermarkt, bibliotheek, wandelpaden en Sitka Fine Arts Campus. Aan de overkant van de straat bezoekt u de Sitka-bibliotheek of Harrigan Centennial Hall, waar u de Russische dansers kunt zien optreden tijdens de zomermaanden, het historische museum van Sitka bezoeken of een uitvoering van het Summer Musical Festival bijwonen.

    Het appartement bevindt zich op het tweede niveau van een commercieel / residentieel gebouw in de binnenstad. De begane grond heeft een koffie bevroren yoghurt bar, een consignatie winkel en op het lagere niveau een Mexicaans Amerikaans restaurant. Het tweede niveau is een combinatie van residentiële appartementen op lange termijn en vakantiewoningen. Het gebouw is 's avonds afgesloten en toegankelijk met een pass-key. Het gebouw heeft alleen een lift voor huurders en gasten.

    Het appartement heeft alles wat u nodig heeft om comfortabel te zijn en u thuis te voelen. De keuken is volledig gevuld met alles wat u nodig hebt om een maaltijd te bereiden, breng gewoon het eten. Wij bieden basiskruiden, koffie en thee. Het appartement heeft een betoverend uitzicht op de omliggende bergen, de oceaan en Crescent Harbor. Er is kabel-tv en als je het nodig hebt, draadloos internet.

There are not a lot of options for comfortable self contained apartments in Sitka, and the Franklin Apartments were a great find. They are centrally located, with as many food, shopping and adventure options as can be found there. As mentioned in other reviews, the two bedrooms are separated by walls that don’t completely seal at the top, so these are perfect for families with young children or children or for those who don’t need sound proofing between rooms. The kitchen was fine for reheating leftovers or simple food preparation and overall we were happy with our week there. We are considering going back for future trips to Sitka.

Great place and well stocked

Great time

Perfect location on the island. Owners were quick to respond to any need that I may have had or question I may have had. Would for sure stay here again and would recommend.

Perfect place to stay in Sitka

What a great apartment. We enjoyed the central location and easy access to hiking trails. The apartment was so clean and equipped with everything we needed. We felt right at home and our hosts were very helpful with some questions we had about luggage, etc. Wonderful experience.

Overall we had a very good stay here. The best things about this VRBO is the location to the dock and it was very clean. A BIG tip when checking in I wish we knew. There is an elevator but you must have the key. I would advise sending one person up to get into the apartment and get the elevator key, so you’re not lugging your bags up stairs. It took us about 10 minutes to get the lockbox open the first night (we arrived very late) but finally got it unstuck. You only will do that if arriving late the first day. The house was very clean. It is what it’s advertised as, the second room isn’t a real room but has dividers to make it private. You can hear everything said in both rooms, but they are private. There wasn’t tissue or paper towels but plenty of toilet paper. The location is fantastic especially if you’re fishing. You’re in town and right on the water. It wasn’t loud and again the elevator is nice to have. The pantry had a few goods if needed. Overall it was a good stay. Just know the bedroom situation (which they list about) and send one person up to get the key so you’re not lugging bags up stairs.

Sorry to say I would not recommend this property. It was advertised as a 2-bedroom apartment. There are 2 bedrooms--sort of. The bedrooms are separated from one another and from the living room/kitchen area by partial walls, not floor to ceiling walls. This means there is no noise mitigation at all. So if there's a noise issue (snoring!) or if the occupants of one bedroom want to stay up later watching TV than other guests, there is no reduction in noise at all. The other problem was transportation. We did not rent a car in Sitka expecting that there would be cab, Uber or Lyft service. There is no Uber or Lyft service in Sitka apparently. A number of cab companies show up online but we were only able to get one to answer the phone. That was Bayside Tours. One cab driver made multiple trips to and from the airport in order to transport all the travelers on our flight from Seattle to their accommodations. She was great but there was only one of her so it took over an hour for her to get to everyone. Getting back to the airport was also an issue. We had an early flight -- needed to be picked up at 4:30am. The Bayside Tours driver wasn't able to do that trip but she referred us to someone else who could. Shout out to Bayside Tours and the great guy who picked us up at 4:30 in the morning!

Comfortable and great location

We spent a week at this place. We found it very comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the location being within walking distance of so many things. Having laundry across the hall was nice. Loved the view!

Wedding trip

Great property close to shops and the airport. Very clean, quiet, and pretty views of mountains and ocean. Property owners were very responsive and easy to reach. Bring quarters if you need to do laundry because they were hard to find. We had an amazing trip and would definitely stay again.

Property was super clean and in a great location to town. If you read the details of the property and know what to expect, you will not be disappointed. Entry into the place is slightly cumbersome but does not detract. Owners communication about late arrival process was more difficult than it needed to be (took three messages when it could have been accomplished in one). Would definitely stay again

Good with possible improvement

We liked much about the property. Its location, the quiet, general appearance and provision of items to support our cooking. We would like to suggest that the guide tell renters how to turn on heat. If in fact these are owners more support would be great. Ie when we could not figure out how to turn on the stove burners there was no response. Overall the stay was good.

Convenient to all our activities, Very comfortable beds and linens

Thanks for another great stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our six nite stay in Downtown Sitka. Fishing activities were excellent and the cruise ships are back in town again. Hopefully the tourist shops can re cover from a long dry spell in customers. Cute town with lots of charm.

Suberb Location, by water and centrally located in town.

1 Problem only. The Toilet is too low to the ground. Also the Toilet doesn't flush correctly it only swirls, but if you hold the handle down for about 30-40 seconds it will flush. Otherwise, it was a perfect place to stay. Would recommend it if they fixed that!

Downtown Sitka Visit

Location was as presented. Clean and location is walking distance to shops, food and historic sites. Kayak and whale trip left from dock across the street. Kitchen equipment was fine. Room was quiet with coin operated laundry across the hall. Apartment had key for elevator! Would recommend could sleep 4 easily

Perfect All Around

Great location—right downtown and close to restaurants, shopping, the harbor, beautiful walking trails and the airport. Beautiful views, clean and comfortable.
