I liked the staff and the area. It was quiet and had what you needed around you. They quickly swapped my refrigerator that wasn’t working. Overall it was an okay stay for the price.

I don’t like to give bad reviews but this location was nothing like the web showed. It’s overpriced for the state it’s in. It’s rundown and poorly maintained. The heater is so loud it unusable and freezing air blows into the room in winter. Furniture is old and damaged. Hardly any service is available at reception. It’s a shame it had potential and it’s a convenient location for skiing in Wolf Creek.

Amazing time at SF. Close proximity to Nordic ski and ski resort. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and functional rooms. Spent 1 week for vacation. Overall great experience.

Clean, but a bit lacking
The room was clean, and the bed comfortable, but there were minor problems with outlets, and there was no towel bar or TP holder in the bathroom. Looks like it was in the middle of a remodel.

Dirty nights stay ..
Dirty sheets and pillow cases, Dirty towels People don’t take any pride in there business anymore, I don’t think it was cleaned for my stay. First room key didn’t work, put me into a different room, when I went out to my vehicle my key accidentally worked on next room over, luckily no one was in it.

South Fork is a quiet little town. When we arrived at the hotel, we checked in and when we went into our room there were still cleaning supplies there. So, we went back to the reception area and requested a different room. We were upgraded o a cabin that was wonderful. The receptionist was exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

The bed was like laying on a cot and full size not a queen as we were told. . Short staffed so we were locked out of the entrance except for a small lobby where we had to wait on the staff to.let us in because the keys werent working to the rooms . I was charged 2x. Once by expedia and then by the hotel. I would NOT recommend this hotel

>>NIGHTMARE<<<
This place is a mess ! A strip of old motel rooms, and some really terrible cabins. There's a RV Park attached that I'd call a 'junk yard with a mountain view'. This property was bought by a company that owns two other motels in the area, and it really needs to be shut down until renovations are done. We had to be moved to another cabin, as the first one had no place for me to plug in my CPAP. The second cabin was not as bad....but really needed work. Only about 5 channels of TV. No news. No weather. There is no a/c....just a box fan. For a cabin, the bathroom was very tiny. Especially the shower. At least it was clean. The office check-in area resembled a storage room with boxes of junk everywhere. There was an old cereal dispenser where a breakfast area used to be. The dumpster outside our cabin was overflowing with trash, since a bear visits it nightly. They need a 'wildlife proof' trash receptacle here. We really felt sorry for the young lady who was 'managing' this place. You could tell she was overwhelmed with complaints. She was very friendly, and tried to be as accommodating as possible, under the circumstances. South Fork, CO is a small town, in a beautiful area that mostly caters to skiers, and there aren't many options.....but pass on this place. At least until they either make 'major' improvements....or better still, tear it down and build an entirely new facility.

its a nice place stayed on one of the cabins- very clean staff was very nice. bed was great. walk to good mex food and rainbow store which was grocery and hardware and fishing, etc. tv didn't work didn't care

The room looks like it has not had any TLC since the 80's with chipping paint, a bathroom door that wouldn't close, and 70's dark wood paneled wall. There were no lamps in the room, only 1 intensly bright flourescent light in each section. The microwave flipped a circuit breaker when we tried to use it, the coffee pot in the room has mold in it from not being properly cleaned, the tv only had about 6 working channels, most showing "classic" tv ("Jaws" anyone?) and one of the keys we were given to our room didn't even work in the door. When we called on the first night because our internet wasn't working (the desk clerk left over 2 hours early and their was only a support number), we were told they had lots of people there using it so we should try again later when some people may be logging out to go to bed.

Not a good place for hospitality.
The check in was, the first look around the room was good. The bed was comfy but the pillows as with other hotels were not. We found out the next morning during showering that water was leaking into the bedroom and seeping up in the hallway, coffee pot did not work, and nobody in the office to help. Had to leave a note in the room and a number they called me from to see if I had checked in and never got a call back about our issues. Left the key in the room also as there was no key drop box and no employees around.

South Fork Trip
I have been going to Rainbow Lodge since I was 10 years old. I am 60 now. The place has changed owners and for the most it is the same with some upgrades. I know they're are still up dating and I appreciate that. What my room needed was to be finished updating. No towel bars or hooks to hang wet towels, and no toilet paper dispenser to put the roll on. My room fine otherwise. The TV wasn't very good as for channels to watch. Rainbow Lodge is a very special place for my family for 4 generations. I hope they get it right in the long run.

The reason I booked this place was for the kitchen to prepare meals. Kitchen was very poorly equipped and dated. Inside cabinets were dirty and dusty. Had miscellaneous items but not anything to prepare basic meals or to serve a meal. You could see some updates of wall’s, floor, and bathroom. Fine for a place to sleep.
