Een huis met drie slaapkamers, een bad (plus een buitendouche), het hele jaar door huis dat comfortabel plaats biedt aan zes personen. Direct aan de oceaan met twee optionele kajaks beschikbaar bij het huis ($ 200 voor beide). Geweldig voor vakantie in de zomer, lente en herfst; gelegen op een halve hectare aan de oceaan met prachtig 180 graden uitzicht op het water. Omvat: goed uitgeruste, moderne keuken met vaatwasser en Jen Air Grill, dubbele oven, magnetron, CuisinArt, enz. Woonkamer met houtkachel. House heeft prachtige Post en Beam constructie met veel hout overal. Je ziet de oceaan vanuit de keuken en woonkamer door dubbele glazen schuifdeuren. Ga op de rotsen in de voortuin aan de waterkant zitten. Neem contact op met de eigenaar voor goedkeuring als u een huisdier van meer dan 30 pond wilt meenemen of meer dan 1 huisdier hebt, de huisdierentoeslag is per week per huisdier.


Winkelen: Kittery Outlet Mall vlak bij de I-95 in Maine, net na de grens met New Hampshire, volg de borden I-95. Freeport: meer charme (minder winkels) en een schilderachtige dorpse omgeving. Probeer in Thomaston de State Prison Store voor met de hand gemaakt houten meubilair, lokvogels en andere objecten. Alles is gemaakt door de gevangenen, geen grapje. Er zijn zelfs tourbussen die klanten hierheen brengen! Alle gevangenissen deden dit tot de vakbondsdruk het op de meeste plaatsen stopte. Op I-95 in New Hampshire heeft de staat goedkope wijn- en sterke drankoutlets zonder staatsbelasting en meestal 10-20% minder dan Connecticut. Rockland: 10 minuten met supermarkten van Shaws en Hannaford - enorm, modern, geweldige selecties, goede prijzen. Wal-Mart, speelgoedwinkels, restaurants en leuke winkels voor kinderen. Camden: klassieke stad in New England met leuke winkeltjes en bezienswaardigheden; veel cadeauwinkels, etc.

Bezienswaardigheden: Tenants Harbor, Camden, Owls Head Lighthouse en ook The Transportation Museum, Port Clyde (en Marshall Island Lighthouse) - een vissersdorp met veerboot naar het beroemde Monhegan Island, Farnsworth Museum in Rockland (veel schilderijen van Wyeths). Vinal Haven en North Haven Islands bereikbaar met een regelmatige veerdienst, ongeveer 45 minuten rijden. Een echt schilderachtig gebied is Acadia National Park met Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, fantastisch uitzicht op de oceaan, wandelpaden (The Beehive), Jordan Pond en Tea House, Wonderland en nog veel meer!

Dineren: McLoons Lobster Shack - beoordeeld # 1 door Down East Magazine - 1. 25 mijl van huis; Primo's - Nationaal bekend, ontvang weken / maanden van tevoren reserveringen; Ada's Kitchen - luxe Pasta & Pizza; Miranda's - eclectisch, veranderend menu, moet proberen; In Good Company - luxe proefschalen; Rockland Cafe - goedkoop, locals, di nacht (alles wat je kunt eten = $ 20, wijn $ 7 / glas - niet luxueus, maar aan te bevelen als je relaxed bent. Klassieke herbergen / restaurants: East Winds in Tenants Harbor, + Clark's Island (Craigmair). Bakery Cafe Restaurant in Thomaston. Voor koffie, café en boeken, probeer The Second Read (gebruikte boeken) op Main St Rockland. Dorman's Ice Cream op Rt 1. Happy Clam op RT 131 in de haven van Tenant is ook goed - semi-luxe.

Quintessential Maine View

Can't beat this location and view! The house was well-stocked, clean, quiet and beautifully landscaped, offering varying outside seating options. Bonus is having one of Maine's best lobster shacks, McLoons, 1 mile away on Spruce Head.

Just wonderful

Stay in October was just beautiful. Listing is accurate with everything you need in a kitchen as far as pot, dishes, and tons of utensils and pans. Quite and cozy, plus million dollar views. Communication with property owners was the best we’ve ever had. Owner even reached out to us to make sure everything was okay and answer any questions we had. Nice touch! Should have booked two weeks. Tons of sights in the area, museums and shopping in quaint towns. AND did I mention the lobsters??!!

Beautiful view

The yard at this house can’t be beat, especially if you have little ones that need to run and play! It’s huge, and the view is spectacular. Notice there is no washing machine in the listing. Also, all of the beds are incredibly soft, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your preference. For someone with back issues, it may be a problem. The house was clean, and everything that we needed was there. Gene was responsive and helpful, and the lobster shack down the street was the best we’ve ever had in all of our trips to Maine!

A special place beyond our expectations

Every year my wife and I do a weeklong end of summer rental with our moms. Thanks to the Goodman, this was our best trip yet! We are so grateful to have found this special home. We trusted the positive reviews when booking, however reality exceeded even our highest of expectations. This property is that quintessential Maine lobster village experience we had hoped for - it felt at times as if we were in a Norman Rockwell painting! The Goodman’s home itself was just amazing! The huge front yard overlooks a rocky beach with a million dollar view of the evening’s sunset and were we enjoyed nights of star gazing. The interior was exceptionally clean with modern amenities, strong internet, and with all the comforts of home. It just felt authentic, like staying at a friends home that they actually use - and not repurposed as a rental. On the property sits two beautiful apple trees where we harvested and baked a pie. My mother in law is an avid herbalist and spent any of hours wondering the property’s wild varieties of plants and herbs. There were days where we did not have a need to leave the property because there was just so much to do within its boundaries. This is easily one of the most thoughtfully landscaped homes I have rented, it gives you a sense of seclusion and being back in touch with nature. We are so grateful to have come across this special home and the memories it has afforded us to create with our moms. We will absolutely be back next year - and many years to come! Thank you Gene for affording us with this opportunity.

While there were sites and activities nearby, nothing could compare with the absolutely stunning views at this property. We enjoyed the beauty, quiet, both sunrises and sunsets, and a million stars at night. The house was well-appointed and cozy. The beds were comfortable.

Overall, the property is as described, comfortable clean, very well supplied with all you need. Host provides you with great info on area. Our only comment would be if you plan your trip, make sure the area is open. We found going before Memorial Day that all stores and restaurants were not open every day. We will certainly look at going back AFTER Memorial Day

Fantastic views of ocean! Just what we wanted!

Plenty of room for two. Interesting walking and bicycling direct from the property. Nesting ospreys nearby, as well as eagles, cormorants, loons, sea gulls, and ducks, etc. plus numerous song birds on the property. The only drawback was that we had to clean the inside of the refrigerator before we could put our food in it.

Lovely view on busy road

Set right on the water with a stunning ocean view, the house was very clean and the downstairs comfortable. However, the busy road into the island just a few feet from the house and at the beginning of a small bridge made it less than ideal while sitting outside The fact that the bedrooms were upstairs and bathroom downstairs was not mentioned. There was no photo indicating there were stairs. This made it less than ideal for me. Although I did not use the third bedroom and photos were not included, it was above the attached garage, making it a long trek to the one bathroom. Gene was very communicative and answered my questions in a timely manner.

Peaceful Summer Cottage

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. My kids loved bouldering and beach combing, and even mucking through low tide to the sand bar "island" right off shore. I enjoyed kayaking, and my husband adored McLoon's lobster shack, just up the road. The best part of all was the location of the property. We spent hours in the yard or living room watching the changing tides and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. It was very hard to leave! The house is very well stocked and organized. The kitchen had every tool we needed. The bedrooms were confortable and we loved the outdoor shower too. Be aware that the third bedroom is over the garage. The garage is attached to the house, so it's basically a separate wing of the house (only bathroom is in the main house). If I had young kids, I would probably not want them to stay in the third, bunk room, just because it's separate from everyone else. But my teens and youngest (8) stayed there and were happy to have their own space to spread out. Communication with the hosts was excellent. We really couldn't have asked for a better stay. Hopefully we can return sometime soon!

Lovely Summer Cottage

The description is accurate, the cottage well supplied and the owner was very helpful! The views/location can’t be beat and the local wildlife was a joy to observe. This was a perfect getaway for our family and a great location, near so many sights and great food.

Home sweet home

The owner is very nice/friendly and helpful. The property is lovely. Between the adorable homie house, the gorgeous property, the endless view of the ocean and the lovely area it was exactly what I needed for my week off. With exception of picking up a few supplies, I honestly didnt feel a reason to leave it much. Plenty of sunshine, beautiful cooling breeze, grab my towel, chair, a drink and relax on the sandy area below the property. Definitely want to go back..

Great ocean views!

This property had the perfect location for us. It is literally right on the water and we could launch our kayak from the beach in front of the property. The views were spectacular, house is private and quiet. Very comfortable furnishings. We spent the whole time outside enjoying the view or when it got chilly enjoying the view from the living room. We plan on returning!

Beautiful Maine coastal home

The home was extremely clean. The kitchen the best stocked of any home we have rented and the view from the property simply amazing. Kayaking in the bay was great. Gene is very easy to work with and very responsive to questions. A great place to stay and enjoy the Maine coast.

The Perfect Escape

This was the perfect getaway for an extended period of time. We stayed for 3 weeks and truly felt at peace the whole time. So many cute wild critters roaming around! The home is absolutely lovely and full of all the things someone might need while staying away. Rented the kayaks from the owners too and was so nice to go launch right off the property after work. We took advantage of being so close to McLoons too and spent a lot of time exploring the nearby towns and cities. Contacting Gene whenever we had questions was super easy and he and his wife were so lovely in giving the best recommendations of what to do, see and eat. Highly recommend this listing and without a doubt will be coming back!

The dishwasher did not work, the yard was full of dog waste and the third bedroom above the garage had no heat...... the coffee pot was extremely dirty and the shower could use an upgrade. No hot water pressure in the kitchen sink.
