Comfort and Convenience! Close to Downtown Spfd.

This remolded 1897 Gem combines turn of the century charm with the latest and greatest amenities. We have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. From the fully stocked kitchen, comfortable mattresses and furniture, to the smart TV and washer and dryer.
Located just 3 blocks from downtown Springfield, less than a mile from MSU and less than 2 miles to Bass Pro and Wonders of Wildlife -we are close to everything. Included is off street parking in the attached parking lot.

You will be staying in the original 1897 house. 2 other smaller apartments were built on over the years. There is a large parking lot attached to my property so if you need to park something big that can be arranged. Additionally there is fenced in back yard and BBQ Grill.

Guests have access to all of apartment 1, the parking lot, front and back yards and the laundry room facilities.

No contact check-in is available as Guests can enter the apartment with their door code. If you need anything I am always available via call or text and I live in apartment 2, around the corner.

The location is an easy walk to downtown where you can find just about any kind of food, shopping, a coffee shop or neighborhood bar.

Getting around is easy. If you are driving there is lots of off street parking. Public buses and Uber or Lyft are always close by.

There is a queen size bed in the bed room and a queen size mattress and box springs in the living room closet that can be used for an extra bed. There are also sheets, pillows, a comforter, blanket and extra towels in the living room closet.

Picture sure made this property look nice. Previous reviews led me to believe it was pristine, though not extremely filthy, was not overly clean. House definitely needs a lot of TLC inside and out. Lots of sloping in floors, doors not shutting properly, leaky fridge, floor gaps between planks.

Felt at home the moment we walked through the door. Super convenient location near downtown, and Anthum gave great advice on sights to see, places to eat, etc. Wish we could have stayed longer.The one tiny problem we had was corrected immediately. Just mentioning that because Anthum is readily available for his guests. He wants to make sure you are happy. And we were.

The home was fully equipped in all aspects from the kitchen to spare bedding and bed. The owner even had a 3 ring binder with full instructions about the appliances and bbq grill and a list of local bars and restaurants. Also on the desk and coffee table was local magazine and brochures.

This is an old house made into 3 apartments. The 1 we stayed in had many updates yet preserved the era it was built. I would describe it as quaint, lovely. Very clean and comfortable. Not far from places to shop or eat. (I highly recommend Jimms steak house!). We took our 2 dogs and they loved the huge fenced in back yard. The firepit would have been fun but the weather was hot in the 90's. There is a full size kitchen with anything and everything you could possibly need. And a laundry area with detergent, etc supplied for your use. I tried to post a picture but this site isn't letting me.

100% Honest Review

Pros- Communication and check-in were 10/10.I can tell the house was very old (not a bad thing!) the layout was great and there was everything there that someone would need (obviously minus food). It came fully equipped. The bed was very comfortable and my son said the extra mattress was good too. Shower had great pressure and was equipped with shampoo, body wash, conditioner.Host also had extra toothpaste, toothbrush, etc for those who forget theirs (that would be us).The neighborhood was super quiet, although we were worried at first. The house was very close to plenty of activities. Cons- #1 Not the hosts fault but the TV did not work. It was not that big of a deal as we were only going to watch one movie late our first night there. It was 11pm and I was not going to contact the host. We found out later that lightning had taken out two tvs including ours. No fault of host!#2 I am 6’2” and 240 lbs. If you are much bigger than me, you may not have room in the bathroom (commode) (again no fault of host). Just a heads up if you like/need more room. #3. Not sure who cleans the houses/apts after checkout, but when I turned the ceiling fan on above our bed, dust flew. It’s been some time since it was dusted. 99% of the house was fine. But if you have to pay a cleaning fee…. We did not do laundry, or use the grill or fire pit, so I can’t review that part!Overall? I would easily stay again, especially if we were staying longer than two nights.

A good value for the location. Some areas could have used a deeper clean but overall we would consider this location another time. If you have small dogs, there are areas your unchaperoned dog could escape.the host is very communicative and lives on the property.

It’s an older property, nothing fancy but it was very clean and comfortable. Quiet neighborhood in a convenient location. We loved the back yard. Privacy fence, lots of chairs, nice fire pit with plenty of fire wood. We would choose this rental again.

We were in town for our Granddaughter’s college graduation at MSU. We wanted to bring our dog, and this location was perfect to have a pet and it was close to campus. We were able to check on our pet a couple times a day. She stayed in her kennel while we were gone. And they have a backyard for pets to run around. We didn’t use the kitchen due to us meeting with family members to eat at fabulous restaurants in the area. Anthum stayed in contact with us. Highly recommend!

Close to downtown

The best part about this place is that it is about a 10-minute walk from downtown. The place is clean and has all the basics you need. Just a heads-up that the queen bed is a mattress in the closet that you drag out of the closet and set up in the living room. I did appreciate how the cabinets and the closet were labeled with a list of the contents. That saved time in looking through every cabinet! The house is a little bit old, but it is fixed up well.

Worth the stay

Older home but updated somewhat. Was one of the few places we could have our dog. Backyard is fenced but big gap under back gate, if your dog is on the small side they can get under gate. Could smoke on property but outside only. Was fully equipped but left over snacks/food need to be removed. Musty smell in kitchen area. Flooring seperating. Dropped ceiling in need of repair. Flip outs under kitchen sink full of crumbs. Get rid of the awful plastic like rug in the living room, it is not comfortable. Wrong code for door but a quick 2 minute phonecall resolved it.
