I booked my room through Expedia for the Extended Stay America Suites Washington DC Springfield. Before I booked the hotel, I called them to inquire about late check-out times and they responded that late check out is by the hour. I told them I was going to book the room and checkout late the next day. I booked through Expedia and I received a confirmation and itinerary number. Once I got to the hotel, before I could say anything, the front desk worker said “we don’t have any rooms”. I said ma’am “I’m checking in, I’ve already booked a room”. She said “yeah, but don’t have any rooms”. She pulled up my reservation and said, we didn’t charge you because there are no rooms available. I never got any emails from the hotel or Expedia bout rooms being sold out-but my card still had a *pending* charge. The problem is, the hotel could not provide anything such as a print out or email stating they were sold out. The hotel didn’t cancel my reservation. When I searched online, I was still able to book another room with the same hotel - I did not but just checking. They were not showing “Sold Out”. At this point I felt like my room was possibly given to someone else. I was finally able to reach out to Expedia and they were able to get my reservation cancelled and they reversed the charges. But it left me having to find somewhere else to stay. My overall rating was a 1 because of my experience-but I cannot speak to the cleanliness of the rooms and other services.
Not a good experience.
