What a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed the grounds and the ambiance of the main house. Our room was in the carriage house and it was cozy and nicely appointed with various musical instruments, reminiscent of the man for which this room was named.
We got up and dressed and walked across the back garden path to the main house for breakfast. It was a purely pleasurable experience. The chef prepared some amazing French toast with berries and walnuts and thick bacon slices. Plenty of coffee and orange juice rounded out our meal. The parlor where breakfast is served is an airy, bright room with views of leafy green trees from the windows.
We truly enjoyed our stay. It made a nice break from staying at a motel chain at an off-ramp from the highway.
