Would look for alternative places to stay if I returned to Jersey. Many hotels on this beautiful bay if you want beach front. Incredibly dated and overpriced.
My main issue was cleanliness, and in light of covid this is a BIG DEAL. The room was not clean with dust everywhere. I didn’t say anything as to not make a fuss, however after self isolating in room for 3 hours I decided to take a shower and found hairs all over the bathroom floor. Disgusted I phoned the front desk to ask for cleaning. Someone for this and apologised, however, I felt very unsatisfied. All of the other surfaces were covered in dust, they had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned prior to my arrival. I phoned the manager and calmly asked to make a complaint, to which she said: “what do you want me to do about it?”I was horrified to experience this in these post-covid times. Later in the evening when I ordered a sandwich from room service they comped me for that by way of apology. Seriously.
The welcome was not hospitable, hotel rules eg covid were not explained nor were details of hotel orientations eg: the stairs are here. As a result I was a bit lost and had to be told (quite rudely) on several occasions to wear my mask in areas I did not realise a mask had to be worn, eg visiting the buffet. More than happy to comply, just had no idea. A quick explanation at the front desk would have curbed my embarrassment; I was after all a visiting tourist.
