'A True Step Back in Time – Unmatched Old Florida Charm!Rating: 5/5 StarsIf you want to experience authentic Old Florida, look no further than the Island Hotel & Restaurant on 2nd Street. Built in 1859, this historic building oozes character from every creaky wooden floorboard and thick tabby wall. Staying here is less like booking a standard hotel room and more like stepping straight into a living history museum—with all the warmth and hospitality you could ever ask for.'

'This was one of our favorite family vacations. We had an amazing week. The host was wonderful to work with. The home is well stocked with all the things we needed. The layout of the house worked out perfectly....plenty of room for our large group to gather together. We loved all the seating around the table so we could eat together (with an amazing view)! When the teens and younger kids wanted to do their own thing the 2 family rooms offered some separation so they had their hangout area and...

'We can’t say enough great things about this wonderful house! We’ve been visiting Florida for the past 5 years as a family in different areas. This year, we decided to bring our dog along for the ride. After further research, we realized how hard it is to find a place in Florida that allows our golden retriever. It was such a blessing in disguise - we would’ve never found this hidden gem of an island, or this cozy home, had it not been our desire to accommodate our pup this year! Upon arrival,...

'Rooms and building were nice. Great location. However, the hot water in room was not hot. Luke warm at best. We were there for 3 nights and only received 1 towel per person. No daily cleaning service that gives you more. There was only part of a toilet paper roll in room. No additional ones. Did not know that until we ran out. There was no blow dryer or iron in room. They need to do better.'

'So much effort put into the inside of this beautiful place. So nice to be in a place that gives you water, snacks, coffee! The host was available for any questions and responded promptly. The description by Expedia was incorrect because it is a one bedroom not a two bedroom. This was not the host fault. The convenience, cleanliness, and beauty more than made up for only having one bedroom.'

We had a wonderful chat with the new managers of the location and they've just recently taken it on. It's clear that they are committed to improving the space, which is already quite charming. We hope to make a return visit again soon!
