Our family had an excellent time at this property! The check in process was seamless, the welcome box at check in was a very nice touch!! The house itself is incredible with amazing history. It is also the exception to the rule when it comes to vacation rentals in that the kitchen comes stocked with anything you could need and more. We could have easily hosted a dinner party in the kitchen without a second thought. The location is also an easy walk into downtown st. Helena. Highly recommend!!!!

A Wonderful Getaway in St. Helena
Incredible home/estate with plenty of space and outdoor areas for groups to enjoy the beautiful vineyard landscape. Host was extremely hospitable and communicative and provided a TON of extra amenities (water, chips, snacks, wine, beer, spices, etc.) Highly recommend and hope to stay again!

Magical property
This is a very special property - particularly if you have knowledge and interest in Napa wine. The house is the old Berringer farm house and sits adjacent to the vineyard that supplies the Cab Sav grapes that go into their reserve Cab. There are fruit trees of all sorts on the property as well so we had fresh fruit literally at our fingertips! It is a large property with all sorts of outdoor living space so a large group could easily gather for an evening. Jim was very knowledgeable of the area and also extremely responsive. I only hope that I'll be able to return soon!

So outstanding it was surreal
This house exceeded our expectations even with all the photos. It’s a place that takes friends and makes them family. We visited local wineries and then cooked dinner “at home” since it was so well appointed and so welcoming. We did one night with a personal chef and he was impressed too!

Expectations Exceeded!
Simply put, this property was fantastic in everyway! Let's start with the location. We were within minutes from Main St in St. Helena (easily walkable) and several wineries. At the same time, you had the feel of being secluded in the countryside. Spring Mountain was behind you and vineyards lined the property. The setting was beautiful with several outside sitting areas to enjoy the views and great conversation. The house had tons of character and charm but not at the expense of modern conveniences. It was extremely well provisioned for the guests. The hosts were outstanding at communicating throughout. Initial emails and texts detailed many activities in the local area along with several recommendations. Checking in and out was extremely easy with very few requirements. Would highly recommend this property!

Great home for a family gathering
We were in town for our son's wedding, along with two of our adult children and their spouses. It was a beautiful location, very spacious indoors and out, and well-appointed. We ended up enjoying most meals on the porch overlooking the vineyard. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need and the beds were very comfortable. We played cornhole, cooked steaks on the grill and the kids even hung out in the party shed one night. It was convenient to our venue and everything downtown and we hope to come back soon!

Excellent location, spacious house and property.
Our family very much enjoyed staying at the St. Helena farmhouse. Although it is quite old (over 100 years) the entire house has been upgraded and was very comfortable for the six of us. The host, Jim, was very accommodating and went out of his way to make sure our stay went well. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that is looking for a rustic but very nice short term rental.

Perfect setting and location
I stayed at the St. Helena House for 3 nights with my husband and 4 friends. I was in Napa Valley to celebrate my 50th birthday and it could not have been a more perfect setting. The house is beautiful and historic, the property, surrounded by Berlinger vineyards, is a dream. It’s less than 5 minutes to downtown St. Helena but you feel miles away. I spent every morning sitting on the covered screen porch enjoying the view of the vineyards and mountains. Jim was attentive and friendly and the check in/out was a breeze. Three nights here wasn’t long enough. Next time I will stay a week!

Tuscan Villa experience in the heart of St. Helena!
A peaceful getaway. My husband and sister stayed with me but the kids and grandkids could spend the days with us enjoying the gourmet kitchen and the outdoor breeze playing horseshoes! Gorgeous view overlooking the lush vineyard. I watched the sunrise over the glowing hillside listening to the birds chirping through the quiet. I think the quail nest nearby and can be observed from the enclosed sunporch. We plan to return next year God willing.

Picture perfect vacation home!
Wow! We had such a wonderful experience staying at the St Helena house! Jim was an amazing host even prior to our arrival providing us such valuable information about the area. The house is beautiful, updated, perfect for gatherings of our group of 8….we had a ball cooking dinners in the updated kitchen, dining and playing card games on the screened porch, enjoying our time on the patio and we all bragged about our great nights sleep on the incredibly comfortable beds! Jim has the house so well stocked…anything and everything you need is there including a thoughtfully stocked fridge prior to our arrival. Thank you for sharing your very special home with us, we can’t wait to return!!

A gem!
A lovely location close to the center of town but tucked away and quiet. Very well appointed and clearly a well-loved property - even better than the pictures! The hosts were also extremely generous, leaving us beverages for the weekend, and great communicators. No issues or complaints! Would absolutely stay here again. Great for a group of five friends on a getaway weekend, an easy five to ten min drive to all the restaurants and wineries we wanted to visit. Thank you for a lovely place to stay!

Napa Valley Perfection
This home is perfectly located for your next trip to Napa Valley. It has a ton of space and beautiful vineyard views. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is outstanding. The place comes stocked with tasty beverages and snacks. I have made aprox 20 trips to Napa, and this home is at the top of the list. Jim is also a great host!

Can’t speak highly enough
We stayed at Jim’s 1890s farmhouse in late October 2021 during what was the largest rain storm of the year following the droughts. Jim was in constant communication with us to ensure if power went out we were okay because as he put it, “he is here to make sure we have a good time.” My wife and the group couldn’t speak higher of the cleanliness of the property or the magnificent views - Jim even decorated for the season! You can tell much pride is taken in the home and taking care of his guests. He even stocked the fridge with beverages - some for adults and some for all ages. It was such a nice touch and much appreciated. Best third-party residence we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot all over the world.

Three couples in our group, and we all had an excellent time. We were in town for a wedding, so had to get dressed up for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding and there were no issues with space or capacity to do so. The property is great, fruit trees abound and everything was in working order. The kitchen is a great place to hang and the beds were all comfortable.

When can I go back?
Where do I begin? The house has such charm, history, and character. You definitely feel the love in the home. Lots of space, privacy, and that screened-in porch! The location was fantastic. Walkable to downtown St. Helena shops and restaurants, yet it felt so peaceful and quiet. Jim was amazing. The info he sent upon reserving the house included all sorts of recommendations for our stay. He stayed in touch leading up to our arrival and throughout our stay. Jim definitely did not make you feel like you were bothering him. He left such a lovely welcome basket for us, and the house was well stocked with beverages, dishes, wine glasses, Ziploc bags, coffee/tea, and more! We will definitely return to this treasure. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Rustic and charming
We had a wonderful time at this property, which was extremely well located. Jim was very easy to work with, which was a big plus. A gorgeous setting, and a rustic, charming, historic house. Fond memories made. Our only warning is that when temperatures are hot, this house doesn't have A/C (we knew this upon booking), so it can be uncomfortable until well after sunset. The fans can only do so much. If you're not bothered by heat, or book during cooler seasons, this place is ideal.

Jim was an excellent host. All the information you need is nicely organized in a folder on the counter. I did not pay attention to that fact and asked him several questions…his response was prompt and once he reminded me of the folder, I had no more questions! The property is awesome. We enjoyed many evenings on the patio just outside of the kitchen. We never took the opportunity to cook/grill out but the amenities to do so are perfect.

This old farm house is beautifully renovated. The grounds are immaculate. Lovely areas outside to sit in the shade and enjoy the scenery and birds. Easy walking through neighborhoods and to town. The host provided lots of information on the area and was very kind and responsive. Beds are comfy and well stocked kitchen ware for cooking for our big family.
