'Brilliant stay at the Villiers Hotel. We received a room upgrade and found ourselves staying in a Duplex Suite. The hotel was spotlessly clean, staff all kind and caring and very well trained. Hotel room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very well heated during the cold spell we were experiencing. The hotel was very well maintained and presented quite a quirky and interesting persona. Breakfasts were promptly presented with an excellent range of cooked choices. Always a free parking space...

'The bathroom's caulking was moldy, and the chair in the room was worn and frayed. The pocket-spring mattress was worn out. The staff was neutral. Nothing special for the money you pay. It is close to the MK arena for darts, though.'

'Free parking OK Paid for large breakfast but suspect that I only received a standard one. Mentioned this to the member of staff and was told that it was a new chef on. No other apology. A due to a long wait, a customer who ordered two poached eggs on toast got up and left without receiving his order. Restaurant not busy. Hotel was in centre of town so easy to meet up with friends for dinner in town. No cereal with breakfast. Somme staff did not appear to know what they were doing.'

'Het heeft vooral de sfeer van een ‘guesthouse’, omdat het volledig gerund wordt door een uiterst aardig echtpaar, dat je ‘s morgens een prima ontbijt serveert en je op elk gewenst moment te woord zal staan. Heel anders dan een hotel met aardig maar afstandelijk personeel. De Lodge zelf is op leeftijd, dus verwacht geen hypermodern comfort.'

'A truly mesmerizing experience. The room was of a standard comparable to the one we enjoyed at the Ritz in London. The castle and its surrounding grounds were beautiful and astonishing. The architecture was impressive in its history, beauty, and timeless elegance. The staff were polite and accommodating throughout. Altogether, it was a deeply enriching experience.'

'Building was somewhat dated, but rooms were clean and everything was in good working order. Staff was friendly. Rooms at the back (waterside) are quiet, but if you want a good night's sleep, stay away from the pub/restaurant next door. In short: good hotel, no complaints.'
