Fantastic Location, Charming Home
We really enjoyed our stay, the property is in a fantastic location, amenities close by, the beach was not crowded unlike the big condo near Pier 60. The home has all the amenities in the kitchen, washer and dryer, covered porch to enjoy rainstorms. The house was built in 1963, and is so charming and we felt very comfortable. I would recommend you book this listing, the home was clean it is just an older home, so other reviews mentioned cleanliness, I found the home to be clean. I would book this home again. The beach is just steps away from the porch and was so nice to wake up and walk outside. Thank you for letting us stay.

Perfect little beach house
The home was great for our family! We had a group ages ranging from 1 to 70 and the home had everything we needed. Minimal stairs to get in the home, plenty of beach toys for the kids, a beautiful view, and close to restaurants and shopping. Nothing fancy about the home itself but perfect for a beach stay to relax.

Darling Beach bungalow rental
We enjoyed the location, home and proximity to the ocean! One bathroom in main house can be a bit taxing! The separate house with full bathroom, laundry and kitchenette is quaint and cozy! Beach access is around the construction site next door. You cannot climb up and over the dunes. This house has a huge back porch with beautiful sunset views!! We enjoyed this trip immensely!!!

Location was great!
First of all, location is fantastic!! We did have some issues. There was no power/internet in the living room and the a/c didn’t work. Jamison was great, he had people come and look at the problems immediately. Everything was repaired while we were there. Meaning we had contractors in our house for 3 full days fixing electrical issues and installing new a/c unit. The owners didn’t feel we deserved a discount since they repaired all the problems while we were there, BUT, Evolve agreed we should be compensated for having contractors in our house during our vacation. We were given a refund for part of our stay.

Sweet, vintage beach property nestled in one of the last standing groves of trees on the beach. So amazing that the owners have held out and not sold or built condos! A VERY RARE GEM!!

The property was nice, and right on the water. However we were miss informed if we had full access from the back yard to the beach or if we had to use side entrances. The house inside needs a deep clean. We were disappointed there was construction happening next to the house we were unaware about. Overall we did enjoy our stay at Indian Beach.

If you just want access to the beautiful gulf this house is for you.
This house has great outdoor accommodations. Tons of outdoor seating, a hammock, tons of water toys for the kiddos and gulf water access steps from the walkway. If you want my honest opinion of the inside of the house like others reviewed it needs some tlc. That though we could live with but whatever cleaning crew cleans the house needs to be replaced. The bed linens and towels were clean but that's about all that was clean. The house needs a deep clean. Tons of dust everywhere, bedside tables, ceiling fans, windowsills, floors, the doors and house in general just needs a good scrubbing. I messaged the manager about the garbage disposal not working and a burned out outdoor light as well as some inside that could be replaced but never heard anything back. These were not major issues but odd that I heard nothing back. Overall our stay was good, as 80% of the time we were outside. If you plan to always be outdoors than this house will work fine.

Very pleased overall with property, Great location. Main house is clean and well maintained for age of property. Need labels on light switches. Also could not figure out how to turn on garbage disposal. Casita was extremely musty smelling and the washer had mold growing in it. I emailed property mgr as it was not urgent but never received a reply. The dune in front of the house left front storm made beach access nealry impossible. It would have been nice to know that was the situation in advance.I would stay there again.

Great Potential but Did Not Live Up To It
The location was amazing but unfortunately the property was in borderline disrepair. When we arrived the outside of the house was filthy. Chunks of the outer stucko and brick were missing in spots. The casita door was covered with corrosion and inside had noticeable flood damage along the baseboard and leak damage beneath the Air Conditioning unit. Inside the house there was serious roof leak damage in multiple rooms. THIS PROPERTY NEEDS AN EXTERMINATOR!!! There were mouse droppings on the nightstand in the bedroom, in the bathroom, and all over the cookware under the stove. Having cockroachs crunch under your feet was the norm and a salamander came up through the sink! I have pics of all of this. The compressor on the fridge struggled the whole time and the oven could not get above about 250 when on. The windows were painted shut and held closed by boards in some instances. The fence on the side of the house was collapsed and being held up by jerry-rigged boards . The lattice work on the rear deck needs to be replaced and there were empty beer cans in the bushes. It is a shame because this property's location is amazing. It was sad to see it in neglect. This property was not cheap, we chose it because VRBO called it a preferred property. At that price point I would expect something more properly maintained. An expensive lesson.

Needs just a little love.
The property and location are absolutely amazing. It's nestled away to where you almost wouldn't even know it was there and 40ft from the beach. The house is old, but was very clean and well stocked with essentials. As others have mentioned the house could just use a little tlc. I was surprised the toilet was still broken as it was mentioned in reviews from a couple months ago. We just took the back of the toilet off and kept it on the ground so we could easily push the stopper down. You would think the owners would want to fix this as it's probably making their water bill extremely high but I guess if you own a beach house you probably aren't worried about water bills. There were no issues with stopped up sinks or anything else other people have mentioned. There is a rat trap in the kitchen and I did see a rat outside close to the neighboring hotel but it wasn't on the property. If you are looking for a house with the perfect location and convenience this is absolutely it. We just used it to sleep mainly so we didn't need all the bells and whistles and fancy interior. It reminds me of our lakehouse. Just the basics and that's all you need. We would absolutely stay there again. Also the back porch is amazing.!

We had a great time at this house. It’s one of the last original beach houses In the area. However the house is in need of repairs that would cost very little to make the stay much more enjoyable. The gate is broken and very hard to open. The bathroom faucet drips, the toilet handle chain falls off all the time. Making the toilet not flushable The doors to the bedroom are slotted so no privacy. And loud. Kitchen sinks clogged. Guest house is musty smelling. The outside furniture is very old and dirty. We spent an hour clean the back porch. The kitchen is very poorly stocked with awful pans and very limited utensils. The inside of the house was very clean. Overall if your looking for a house right on the beach with no luxury amenities this is the place. But if you like nice higher end homes this it not the one.

We have stayed in this area before and love the location! The house was great and loved that we could just walk right down the path to the beach but the house could use a little TLC. It’s a great older house that just needs a little love and it would be excellent!

Great Location But Needs Some Repairs
It was amazing to have the opportunity to walk straight out to the beach and back. The property was also very clean upon arrival. The property is showing its age and needs some loving. Garden hose was broke and not usable. Dishes and appliances are not very good. Bring your own BBQ utensils. There isn't any. There is an outdoor shower with hot water. Very nice. Be careful when you open the door. It's broke at the hinge and will fall on your foot if you're not careful. Front gate is very hard to open. TVs are usable. Plenty of beach toys available. We left some sand castle building stuff for the next guests.

Fabulous beach retreat
Pro: location, view, lovely decor, very clean, great deck, amount of space, privacy, proximity to necessities, distance to beach, nice beach, kitchen amply outfitted, convenient to colorful gas station, walking distance to ice cream shop, easy to reach by plane, comfy beds, no pests. The separate casita has a kitchenette, bathroom and its own thermostat. Cons: 1 bathroom in the main house is fine for 4 but it sleeps 7; dining table only seats 4 indoors (mitigated by outdoor large picnic table and additional outdoor table and small table in sunroom), an icemaker would be nice but we bought bagged ice from the colorful gas station across the street, larger dining seating on the covered deck would be nice (again mitigated by the outdoor picnic table), plastic cups and a pitcher for mixing drinks and taking outdoors would feel more comfortable than taking real glasses outdoors, difficult to find the driveway-a sign at the road would be very helpful. The casita is slightly musty and could stand more water pressure and a hair dryer. The Pros far, far outweigh the cons. The cons are insignificant compared to the cleanliness and the view; the convenience and privacy. It was an amazingly relaxing long weekend. We will return!!!

Great property, but some minor issues
I reached out to the property contact to see if we could have an early check-in to the property. His response initially was positive and friendly, stating that it shouldn't be an issue. When I followed up with him the night before our check-in he became very brief and it felt as though my email was an inconvenience. I never heard from him the day of our check-in, but my family arrived to the area early and went to the property to ask about the early check-in. The property contact was there cleaning and was very rude about their arrival. We waited at a nearby restaurant as he stated that he would text us when the property was ready and he never text us, so we never got an early check-in. The house was NOT as clean as we expected considering the increased cleaning fee for Covid. There was only one roll of paper towels and a minimal amount of toilet paper. Considering the reservation was for 7 people, we expected enough for our trip of 4 days. We loved the property itself, but we're slight disappointed with the property contact and cleanliness.

Excellent location and spacious...
Second year staying here for a holiday weekend and we all enjoyed our stay. Spacious, clean and just about everything you need on site. Staff took extra time cleaning the house which did delay our check-in, but they explained they had been fully sanitizing the house per covid procedures and more then made up for it by extending our checkout time! Will be back next year.

Great Location, Beach access and views
The location is unbeatable just steps from the white sandy beach. You can spend all day going back and forth from the beach to the house, a luxury not many in the area have. Hidden in between beautiful trees on both sides makes it feel very private. There is a condo next door but the trees hide all that. Never had any issues with noise or privacy. The location is confusing to get to because the address number is used twice so delivery is a little difficult. The house is well maintained, new flooring and the kitchen is fairly new and everything works. The single bathroom in the house is fine. Plenty of sleeping space but could use new less worn mattresses, not very comfortable. Our only real issue was the difficult sleep due to the worn out mattresses. Besides that it is absolutely wonderful, very homey, comfortable couches and seating. The wifi was very dodgy as well but we only used it in the evening so it wasn’t that big of an issue. Many complained about the lack of beach amenities. There is a single beach chair very well used, but we had our own items so it wasn’t an issue. The laundry is in a separate building in front of the house with the 4th bedroom and 2nd bathroom. We had a rainy day and managed to do the laundry with no issues going back and forth. Everything needed was provided from the kitchen to the bathrooms. Plenty of bathroom towels as well as beach towels provided. Many great restaurants available that are walking distance, as well as a great cafe just two streets down. The trolly stop is right in front of the shared driveway so it’s great for those who don’t want to drive everywhere. Lots to do and see in the area but if you just want to sit at the beach it’s the perfect spot. Honestly the location and steps from the beach makes it worth every penny, very difficult to find such a private setting in the middle of such a busy area. The beach is fantastic, our kids loved playing in the sand and waves for hours, very easy to walk and play on. The little boardwalk to the beach is great and lots of little lizards running around which the kids loved. Would rent it out again in a heartbeat and really recommend it!

The house and location of the property are wonderful. Easy to get to, beach access is perfect and the scenery is excellent. The biggest complaint was the rats. Yes, rats. We caught and killed two IN THE KITCHEN. The first was in a bag of chips that were stored on the pantry shelf and the second was caught on a glue board that property management people set out. All of the perishable food items we had purchased had to be thrown out. A Pest Control company came during our stay and confirmed that the attic had signs of rat activity and the perimeter of the house had several access points where rats could enter. No further action could be taken as the property owners had to approve the work to be completed. We were refunded part of our stay which was a nice gesture, however the stress of having rats in the house made it less than enjoyable.

Additionally, Evolve took measures to make things right and adjust properly for the inconvenience you faced because of this issue. We're sorry if these efforts were not enough for your group. The homeowners have assured us that the property receives monthly pest control and that they have taken extra steps with a specialist to deal with the rats you encountered. The climate and landscape around the house are out of the owners' control, however, they can assure future guests that they do their absolute best to stay ahead of problems like this. Great family beach house
Great little beach house in an excellent location. Great for kids and grownups. Casita is great and has washer and dryer. Nice deck with plenty of space and comfortable chairs. Garbage disposal didn’t work for us and couldn’t be fixed during our stay so we did have to hand wash dishes the whole time but minor inconvenience for this great house. I also liked that there were family games, fans/ white noise in each room. Google doesn’t take you to the right driveway so we did have to park and walk to find the correct house. Overall great time and great location

The property is a little further away from the main attractions in the area, but it sits right in the middle so you can easily get from Johns Pass to Pier 60. There is even a bus/trolley stop right in front so you have the option to use that for $5 (unlimited) a day! The beach access is nice, although bring your own beach chairs or cooler (not provided and what is provided in in poor shape). Linens are provided, but no paper products - so be sure to have garbage bags, paper towel and toilet paper when you arrive! Overall this was a nice place to stay with plenty of room.

Somerset House was everything I expected. This is a comfortable house nestled among condos (that you never hear or see). Great location, clean, updated, and steps to the white-sand beach! The house felt like home and had everything we needed. We never had to contact the managers with problems checking in or living there. The casita is a bonus and we loved sitting on the patio listening to the gulf. We would stay there again.

best porch ever
Very comfortable. We felt like we had privacy even though there are condos surrounding you. Mornings on the beach are awesome. The shade from the large trees makes an umbrella unnecessary. Kitchen is just ok. Small but has the basics. Very comfortable and pretty decor, beds are very nice. Be aware that the 2nd bathroom is in the Casita which involves going outside, so you could have several people sharing one bathroom in the main house. The close proximity to the beach is incredible! We were told there were beach chairs but we did not find them. There are a couple umbrellas. We would come back for sure.

Excellent location, poorly maintained property with MOLD!
Excellent location but property is very poorly maintained. The shrubs and trees are overgrown with a ton of needle weeds ok the ground that make walking around barefoot absolutely horrible. The pathway to the beach exists but only barely as it's obviously not maintained. The outside of the house again is very poorly maintained and looks sketchy. My company did not want to stay in the converted shed because it's separate from the house and poorly lit and very sketchy looking. The inside of the house was clean and maintained. The worst part was the smell or mold throughout the house and the she'd... It was so bad one of my guests had respiratory issues where they felt like they couldn't breathe and I had to relocate them to a hotel WITHOUT MOLD! I tried to contact the property manager using the phone number I was given and never got a call back. I would not rent here again.

Fantastic, beautiful house right on the beach!
House was as described. Gorgeous with tons of room. For it to fit 10 people though, wish parking was better described. There’s a patch that only fits 2-3 cars. Luckily we knew someone that lived close by so we could park our trailer and other cars. Overall though, this is a fantastic stay. Couldn’t have found a better home!

Real Florida Charm
What a treat it was to stay in this home on the beach. I simply love how it has the "old Florida" bungalow feel with all the modern comforts. It was clean, comfortable and close to everything! We enjoyed slow coffee on the deck and were just steps from the sand and water. We retreated to the deck for breaks from the sun and during a rain shower. We hope to return.

Family Vacation
Overall the stay was good. The house was very clean when we arrived and the pictures online were very accurate. The only issue we really had was that we had a full house and there were only four bath towels for us to use. Would have been nice to have a bath towel for each person staying or to have been told to bring our own. Had to do more laundry than we planned. Be cautious of the dishwasher - it is not attached to the wall so it was interesting loading dishes. We loved having access to the beach and having the property close to many restaurants, gas and shops. The individuals in the condo next door were sure to tell us where to park and where not to park so stick to the non grassy area. Overall our family had a great time and would stay in that area again.
