charming property and lovely area
My teen daughters and I had a wonderful stay. The property is absolutely charming, a true Hudson Valley gem. Neighboring towns, hiking trails, farms are a perfect getaway place and reprieve from NYC bustle. The cricket and frog chirps at dusk an absolute bonus :)

Weekend around Hyde Park
We booked the Chapel for a quick weekend to check out the FDR Home and other sights around Hyde Park and Dutchess County. The place was perfect for our needs! Glen was very helpful and communication was excellent. We loved that the property has chickens and a wild turkey.

Perfect Charm
This place is so dreamy. We were greeted by a flock of cutie chickens. Main house is close but we felt we had privacy. Glen was a wonderful host, easy and kind process. He gave us a great antique picking location that we scored tons of awesome treasures! - Bottle Shop Antiques 15 min to Rhinebeck for nice restaurants and shopping. A perfect little weekend stay for me and my bestie!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was beautiful and cozy, and suited our needs perfectly. We traveled with 2 dogs and they were right at home. It’s a great location, not far from many amenities and notable places. We’ll be back when we’re in town!

Disappointing
Given the numerous 5 star ratings my girlfriend and I had high expectations, but ultimately we’re very disappointed. First, the property is not really a farm and not located in a rural setting, but in a suburban neighborhood with a high school 3 blocks away. Second, the bathroom and shower is extremely small and is located downstairs off of the kitchen. Very inconvenient. Third, we found dead lady bugs on the counter in the kitchen upon arriving as well as dead flies and moths in the window sills. A light off the bedroom had its wires exposed and several of the kitchen utensils were rusted. The freezer door was stuck shut and couldn’t be used. The living room couch had multiple stains on it. All that being said, Glen was a great host: communicative, respectful and accessible. A plus were the fresh eggs, milk and real honey provided. The building itself is unique. A converted small church with a large open space. Heating was sufficient. The bed was comfortable. We’re not sure how so many people rated this a 5.

Ouch, this review stings. And yes, I guess my feelings are a little hurt but I will be okay. First and foremost, I do appreciate the positives you point out along with items that are constructive criticisms. The mentioned items within my control to change/correct have been addressed. But I guess what is most shocking about your review is your self-serving desire to try and negate the 30+ 5-star reviews of other guests who took the time to give their opinion solely to make the point of your dissatisfaction. Especially coming from someone of your profession and career accomplishments. Never mind you willfully posted this review knowing it will forever be on my listing. As for some of your stated shortcomings of the home, I will chalk it up to you not realizing you were staying in an historic home/church whose construction pre-dates indoor plumbing and electricity. Also, I believe you take issue with my use of the word “farm”. Please try to understand the goal is to share from this and other local micro farms, fresh vegetables, and fruits (not available in January when you stayed), eggs, honey, maple syrup and milk for guests’ enjoyment. PS I noticed you took all the various free samples but not the Mizuna. This was the best product of the farm last year; sorry you are not going to have this dehydrated and processed Japanese mustard green to season some of your favorite dishes at home.

Perfect Holiday Stay
I was in town to visit family for the holidays. The accommodations were cozy, very welcoming (especially the chickens), and lovingly decorated for the holidays. Communication was excellent, sleeping arrangements were perfect for our group of 4, and kitchen well appointed to for making meals at home. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay at cool renovated church
Glen was a wonderful host. He even had the place decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree and decorations. It was so festive. He also leaves farm fresh eggs, local syrup, and honey. There is a big table the whole family can gather around. It was also near great hiking with the dogs.

Step back in time
Quiet, peaceful location but close to stores and FDR historical sites. Picturesque, quaint renovated old church. Very cozy, clean, well stocked with towels, etc. Kitchen, bath small but serviceable. Plenty of hot water and split on wall worked well for heat/ac. Host lives next door, friendly, helpful but not intrusive. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Our host greeted us and welcomed us as we drove into the driveway. He told us fresh eggs, milk, and vegetables from the their garden were in the refrig. What a welcomed surprise. The chapel is liking staying in a piece of history. For persons with mobility, the stairs are steep going to the balacony

My family stayed here for two days. The house itself is amazingly cool. It's a rustic 18th-century church that's been renovated as a cottage. One thing I love about the place is the living space is comfortable but keeps its key architectural features. For instance, it still has classic vaulted ceilings. The upstairs is a loft with a bedroom and separate office with a desk. Downstairs is a bedroom, bath, full, well-stocked kitchen, and living area. The house sets on a small quiet farm that borders a subdivision on one side and large forest on the other. Route 9 is about a half-mile away and the location makes it a great base for visiting attractions in the mid-Hudson area such as the FDR library and estate, Poet's Walk, and Bard College. The proprietor, Glen, lives elsewhere on the farm and is a great resource for the area's history and attractions. We especially enjoyed the fresh produce, eggs, and honey produced there on the farm.

Staying in this 19th-century former church was very special, and its location was perfect for visiting historical sites and Hudson Valey's small towns. Our host was very welcoming and provided great info about interesting local spots.

My husband,dog,and I spent two nights in this renovated church on the Farm. Glenn was the most friendly, gracious host in every way. This was our dog's first vacation and he had a great time too! The house was spacious,clean, and had many cool antiques Very convenient for sightseeing at FDR house, Val -Kill, Vanderbilt mansion, and a short drive to Poughkeepsie or rhinebeck for more activities and great restaurants. VERY dog friendly restaurants and even stores. Glenn had great lists of places to see,eat,drink, explore,etc Excellent choice for us after a lot of research!

Our time at Hyde Park
My husband and I had a delightful stay at The Farm in Hyde Park. We were able to be joiined by his sister who lives in Western Mass. We all felt as if we had been transported to the English countryside. This property is absolutely charming. And the host could not be more welcoming. Farm fresh eggs from the chickens who greeted us, milk and local honey and syrup were waiting for us. And as an added bonus, Glen suggested several local restaurants. Smoky Rock Bar B Que 6367 Mill St Rhinebeck, NY 12572 THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. AMAZING!! All three of us recommend staying here and while in the area, get yourself some great BBQ!

Unique stay
The property is breathtaking. It even impressed my 18 year old son, which doesn't happen often. Communication with Glenn, the host, was great. It is a 150 year old property, so there were some issues. There were a few hard rainstorms that caused some leaks and knocked out the Internet, but we came prepared with actual books and board games, so no big deal for us. There is all sorts of wildlife, domesticated and not. Chickens, bunnies, raccoons, lots of bugs. The kitchen is equipped a bit better than other places I've stayed (although with the smallest cups/mugs we've ever seen, lol) and we were able to cook about 50% of out meals with no problem. The bed upstairs was more comfortable than my bed at home. My son said he slept well downstairs. Sound travels well throughout the building, so we could hear him on his phone downstairs in his room. If you are a light sleeper that may bother you. The bathroom is a bit small with shower only, no tub, but the water was hot and we never ran out even after 3 showers in a row one day. It is situated in the middle of everywhere we were going, so we had a 10-30 minute drive most days to get to fun places. Overall, a great experience, and we hope to return for another week.

Perfect Cozy Getaway
We had the most lovely stay at this converted church. It had all the essentials we needed and so much charm. It's located in a nice quiet neighborhood, but you feel very tucked away. While we enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and hiking trails, we spent most of our time reading books and hanging out both indoors and in the backyard, it was very peaceful and relaxing. Glen was very communicative and accessible while also giving us our privacy and space. We cannot wait to return someday and see how the farm space progresses!

Unique Home!
My husband and I stayed here for three nights in March while we toured the nearby FDR home and library and enjoyed the culinary delights of the Culinary Institute of America. The home is not fancy but has all that you would need. It is a unique place, having been built as a brick church, with a soaring ceiling and a loft space. The bed was comfortable and quilts were at hand when the evenings turned chilly. Glen provided us with milk, eggs, honey and maple syrup. He was easy to communicate with and helped us out when needed, while giving us plenty of space and privacy. I would imagine it's a beautiful place to stay in the spring, summer, and fall!

This rustic home was clean and conveniently located for to the CIA where I was taking classes. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils to allow me to cook for myself after school. The old church is charming and the grounds suited to letting my dog run. While not a problem for me and adequate the old fixtures in the bathroom would not suit some travelers used to to more upscale accomodations. Glen's information about the area was very helpful and A particularly nice touch were samples of local honey, milk, maple syrup and farm fresh eggs. Glen was flexible on entry and exit, welcomed me warmly and was ever available for quick answers to my questions. All in all a wonderful stay.

Amazing history and unique stay
Great big house that accommodates easily 4 adults or a family. Dog friendly and extremely relaxing with a huge yard for bone fires and morning coffees. We definitely want to come back. The host was amazing and we can’t wait to become regulars. Also, check out the history of the church and the neighborhood!
