Living beautifully
Location, location, location. We love being so close to the beach. Your cottage is adorable and we loved it again. As far as feedback, we have some. The backyard was a bit run down this time. The fence was broken I imagine from the rain storms . It also looks as though the gardener left piles which were needed to be recycled into the green bin. Last time the back yard was pristine. The bed was also a bit soft this time. Everything breaks down eventually. Just feedback for you. On the whole, everything else was great. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great beach cabin
Wonderful ‘back to basics’ cabin, 4 houses away from a sandy beach access. Fabulous cafe 6 blocks away with early morning croissants daily. Super friendly community. A great base for local trail hiking.

Such a great getaway !!
The location of this place is super convenient and the house is beautiful. We loved being able to walk right over to the beach and come back whenever we wanted and having an overall awesome trip. The house felt clean and had great character.

Quaint Coziness
Love, love, love this place! So quaint and cozy. Our dog loved the backyard and you can’t beat a two minute walk down a private path to the beach. The two plug-in heaters came in handy for a chilly rainy weekend stay

Getaway with dogs plus Bon could use his walker.
We loved the first impression of the property. By the time we unloaded all of our stuff for the house, we added an electric blanket on the bed. It wasn’t till later that we realized it was going to get cold, and we couldn’t figure out where the wood was or whether we could even use that stove I don’t know if I missed that in the overall or not, plus the damper does not move in and out at all so our wood burnt up very quickly. If we had a fire the first night we would have not froze to death but that was our main goal. The next day was to find heat. I went into town and bought Wood was fine and when I got home, I found the wood alongside the back of the property, but I needed the Botwood to get the wood to burn. The kitchen equipment was very well stocked. We had a wonderful time grilling in the backyard. We had to clean the grill. It was pretty bad, but Jim spent the time doing that in the sun in the backyard. Four people moving around the house during the day is fine. I was glad to see them go when it was time for them to go also the front door I was very careful not to open that top door as you said, for some reason just before I left, it came undone and I spent 15 or 20 minutes trying to get that fixed before I left the house. having to move the garbage cans Tuesday the night before I thought was a bit much to ask of us we’re old I don’t even move my own garbage cans out and trying to roll. Those in the wet sand were very difficult but I tried and I just couldn’t do it.

Adorable Cottage - Great Location!
The cottage is perfect for a couple's getaway.....it's really cute and well-equipped. The yard is huge and and a nice space to enjoy meals, although the beach is just a few minute walk so it's hard to choose (o: The bed was also super comfy. Only thing I would add is if you are a movie lover there is just one smallish TV in the bedroom. It also would be nice if the washer/dryer worked (especially if you are staying for a longer period of time). Really really special weekend though and we had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for sharing your space!

Hi Karen, Thanks so much for your thoughtful and very positive feedback. It is a pleasure to read the words "perfect getaway" in the first sentence of any review! We do have a pretty great location. I also appreciate your thought about supplying a washer/dryer to accommodate longer stays. That would certainly be ideal. It is because of frequent water restrictions and conservation we made the hard decision not to provide that option and to wash our own towels and laundry outside of Stinson Beach where it doesn't impact the water district. Thank you for understanding and again for the very positive remarks. Happy you enjoyed your getaway.

Great location
The property was cute, well stocked and just a few steps to the beach. The location was perfect. A quick walk to restaurants or trailheads and just a minute walk down to the beach. Property was overall clean, but kitchen could use some deep cleaning. Great backyard with plenty of outdoor space. There was no real eating area besides the tiny island in the kitchen. An outdoor patio table would be a nice addition, so that there is a proper table, there is plenty of room. My reservation process was rocky. After making an initial reservation I requested a change in checkout dates. VRBO did have a technical issue the first time that I requested, not a big deal. However, it took me several more emails to the host over the course of month to get my date changed and a refund for one night. He then never changed the date in the actual VRBO reservation calendar, so he was messaging me after I had checked out, thinking I was still there. I am also a VRBO host and understand the process of changing reservation details, it’s a simple process on the host’s end. There was a technical glitch the first time I requested the change, but VRBO resolved the issue shortly after.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments and recommendations regarding our small beach cottage. It is always a plus to see the location described as “perfect” and the yard as “great.” My management team is usually excellent with juggling reservations across our two side by side cottages and the various advertising platforms. We don’t simply use VRBO but Air BnB and others. Since we also need to notify housekeepers and sometimes others when changes come up it sounds like there is more possibility of a glitch for changed dates with our set up compared to yours. I apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused by the change. We always want to provide a 5-star guest experience. Best wishes to you!

Lifetime friends get away!
Three high school friends (Some are grandmother's now.) stayed the weekend in this cute Mouse Hole. We so loved the place and it was the perfect size. Loved the backyard which would be warmer than the front side if needed. Such a short nice walk to the beach with perfect sand, not too many people and dogs having fun. Power went out all over Stinson Beach in the evening and we found a flashlight, stood it up and had enough light to get around and the battery tea light for the bathroom. Glad we knew where to find what we needed.

Stinson Mouse House
This property was so warm and welcoming from first site. Easy to find, well equipped. There was a little confusion with VRBO when I added an extra night to our stay which led to the servicing staff showing up a day early. The property manager will be working on that issue for future bookings. Thank you for a wonderful stay which we thoroughly enjoyed with our dogs. They loved it too!

Great location!
We loved our stay at the Mouse Hole! It is just a few steps from the beach down a short path, but even better is the close proximity to the shops and restaurants in town. We really enjoyed being able to park our car for the duration of our stay and walk on the beach to get to town for a snack or dinner. But yet far enough away that the beach wasn’t crowded with day trippers. We also really appreciated all of the hanging storage in the cottage, so that we could keep our belongings organized and off of the ground. We look forward to returning soon!

Great location! Just a few houses away from the beach. Super cute yard and outdoor space. Be aware that house has only one actual bed (a comfy Queen) and that the foldout couch is so uncomfortable as to be unusable for sleeping. So property really sleeps 2 people who are comfortable sharing a bed.:)

Great location, a short walk to a dog friendly beach with great stretch for long walks or just sitting and watching the waves and sunset. Very quiet neighborhood and Colby was very accessible although we had no problems with anything. Bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Great stay for a couples getaway.

A comfortable place in a beautiful spot
This was a lovely place to stay, just steps from the beach. It was comfortable and quiet. The owner/manager checked in by email regularly to make sure everything was as it should be. A wonderful restaurant was just a short walk down the beach. I hope to stay there again soon!

Don't expect to watch TV.
Two technicians attempted to fix the TV. The TV was never made to work. It's a good thing the bed was comfortable. We read quite a bit of the time. A little beach. A little restaurants. Quite a bit disappointment.

Can hear waves at night
This place is so cute and cozy. It has everything one needs. Hearing the waves at night is amazing. Access to the beach so easy. Would be great to come back and enjoy the back yard when weather cooperates. Cute tiny town. It was uncharacteristically cold weekend and so we were grateful for local grocery store to carry supplies so we could make cozy fire in fire place. We plan on coming back. 4 people would be tight. Ideal for a couple.

Cozy cottage
We had a beautiful stay at this cozy cottage. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and well put together. Most Adorable Mouse Hole House
We’ve stayed at this super adorable place several times before and are falling more and more in love with it. It’s in the best Calle in Stinson with steps from the beach. If you don’t feel like going to the beach, the big beautiful garden in the back is a true delight as well. The communication with Colby and Kathrine was excellent. Check in couldn’t have been easier. We will be back soon.

Great little spot on Stinson Beach
Easy to find, checking in was simple. Everything we needed was there. We used it for two nights for a hiking trip and enjoyed awesome oysters and crab just north of the beach in Tomales Bay. The property is small but exactly what we needed. Kid friendly and dog friendly. Very nice management.

This is a clean, cute cottage in a great location, just steps from the beach!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is clean, colorful, and well appointed. The backyard was bigger than expected and looks like a great place to relax when it’s not raining (it was raining). Very close to the beach just a few steps down the street. Very close to downtown as well with the market and restaurants just a couple minute drive or an easy walk. Great place!

Sisters love Stinson Beach
We sisters had stayed at Casa Azul last summer, and so were familiar with the Mouse Hole. Just as charming as we anticipated, and wonderful for a late fall November stay. Bed was very comfy and soft, the sofa was comfortable, the deck and yard was enjoyable (as well as the two Adirondeck chairs out front, watching the sunset!). The coffee maker was clean and easy to use. Could use more coffee cups. Getting hot water running was iffy; glad we didn't need to wash our hair.

Thanks for coming back to try out the sister cottage! They each have their own charms don’t they? Those chairs out front are nice for watching sky change or passers by. One difference between the cottages is the casita has a conventional water heater with heated floors and the Mouse Hole has one of those “instant on” water heaters. It works fine once you learn that the water has to be turned full force on high hot to activate it. It can be any faucet to get it going but must be full on hot. Some folks are used to turning a shower on set in the middle of hot/cold and then adjust once it warms up but that won’t work at all for this kind of water heater. It can run all day without activating the heat. I had to learn that myself trial and error as well! Full hot from faucet to activate! Thanks for the chance to offer this tip!

Quaint and Relaxing
Perfect weekend (even with rain) for three girlfriends to walk the beach, walk downtown, shop and chat in the backyard :) The quarters are a teensy bit tight for three but we made it work because the location is perfect for sunset walks on the beach, access to Dipsea Trail hiking and cute downtown.
