'We wanted to get away for a couple days to see fall colors and hike near Starved Rock. This little house in the small town of DePue IL perfectly met our expectations. We had a great time looking at all the interesting decorations. While in DePue be sure to get a pork tenderloin at Casford’s Crossing!'

'This was the perfect location for our goal to unplug and get into nature for a long weekend with all the hiking and nature nearby. The house was roomy and had everything we needed to cook and relax and spend time together. Elaine was the perfect host. The property was spotlessly clean. All the little details were appreciated. '

It's so hard to find a property that takes larger dogs, but this was not a problem here. The fenced yard was perfect for late night let outs and running around. The location is perfect for accessing Starved Rock and Mathiessen state parks with a very useful write up of different hikes at Starved Rock provided in our welcome materials....

'This is a nice little place in a quiet area of Dixon, easy to get to off of the main route. It was a great central location for us to stay while we visited family in the area.The two rooms downstairs worked out well for two of the guests that couldn't do stairs well and my son and I shared a room upstairs.Brought back many memories of going to my grandparents' farm. The old wood doors and floors just made it feel and smell the same as my childhood. Even saw some wildlife during our stay and...

'Fabulous cabin on the river! Awesome nature views and sunsets were amazing. Whole front of house including the master bedroom is all windows for breathtaking views. Relaxing, peaceful, hot dogs and s'mores by the campfire along the lake....can't beat it!'

'Our yearly retreat was so well framed by this home full of beautiful wood and tile detailing, a large dining table for all of us to sit together, 4 bedrooms and 6 beds (1 pull-out couch and 1 air mattress), and EXTREMELY CLEAN FLOORS. Like, we walked around barefoot indoors and got NO CRUMBS OR DUST on our feet until after we’d eaten a few meals. I was really impressed by how clean the place was.
