"A Captain's Cottage" is a true oceanfront delight, offering amazing views of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, as well as the most gorgeous Holden Beach sunrises and sunsets! This 4 bedroom, 3 bath oceanfront home is all one level, and located inside the beautiful gated community of Holden Beach West.

Inside this charming coastal cottage you will discover a large multi-level open-concept living space, including a relaxed sitting area perfect for reading, playing games or just enjoying the magnificent ocean view! The updated kitchen offers a great space for cooking gourmet meals, with enough room for everyone to dine together. You will enjoy laid-back evenings sitting on the screened porch off the living room, also accessible from two of the bedrooms. You will love both the ocean side and the street side covered porches. Relax and unwind with a cool beverage on the large oceanfront covered porch, or take a much needed nap on the open sun-deck, while listening to the waves of the ocean rolling in. You will appreciate the convenience of your own private beach boardwalk leading from the oceanfront deck, quickly bringing you to the pristine sandy shores of beautiful Holden Beach.

The Master bedroom offers a king size bed, with screened porch access and a full private bath with walk-in shower. Bedroom #2 offers a queen size bed, with screened porch access and a full private bath with with walk-in shower. Bedroom #3 offers a queen size bed, and shares a full Jack-n-Jill bathroom (tub/shower combo) with bedroom #4. Bedroom #4 offers a queen size bed, and shares a full Jack-n-Jill bathroom (tub/shower combo) with bedroom #3. For added convenience, the washer & dryer are located inside the garage.

Problems

We had no problems staying here last year but this year was a different story. We had no hot water but Chris from Maintenance was prompt to look at the tank. He said he would let the owner know that it was either the elements or thermostat and that he would contact us the next day regarding service. He got it working enough that if we staggered showers (3 of us) it stayed hot. Then the freezer thawed and intermittently froze back. Luckily we lost no food. Then the fire alarm started going off intermittently. Good location but frustrating situation this year.

Girls Trip 2022

Excellent location and size for our annual girls trip. This was the first trip to Holden Beach for all of us and we were all favorably impressed! The only thing that was a negative was that at all of our stays in FL or Hilton Head beaches, the linens were provided and sheets on the beds and beach chairs were available where this is not the case with this rental!

Great Getaway!

A very nice house in a private, gated community. We enjoyed a quiet, week-long vacation with another couple. The house was clean, the kitchen very well appointed (we did a lot of cooking), plenty of room inside and outside on the decks/porches, and the beach was beautiful. --- The back deck furniture was sturdy and comfortable, with some of it under an overhang, so we could enjoy afternoons outside. Other than a few minor housekeeping items which I reported via email, all was well! Great place!

Great Beachfront property

The location was great. It was in a gated area that was very quiet. I was finishing some work projects and was able to really concentrate. the beach access is easy and the back deck is really an appealing feature!

Perfect Getaway

The little house on the block, we had just what we needed for a peaceful getaway with my teenagers. Easy access to the uncrowded, pristine beach, behind the gate on a residential island. Lots of porches for us to spread out for reading and relaxing. We even had a tropical storm go over while we were there (missed one day of the week to rain) and the house barely moved in the wind. Kitchen was well equipped and fully functional. Thanks for hosting a great stay!

Comfortable beach house

Washer and dryer are in the basement. Walkway to beach ends and have to walk between dunes to get to beach. All that to say just in case renters have difficulty walking long distances or climbing stairs. Overall very homey and comfortable beach house with beautiful oceanfront view!
