'Very easy experience from booking as great communication from the owner. This self catering rental has everything you need from a comfortable lounge to a fully equipped kitchen, I even cooked a full English breakfast! Surprisingly quiet considering it was on the second floor of a 3 story block accessible up 2 flights of concrete stairs therefore would not be suitable for less able bodied people. Taxis cost roughly £5 into town, however, the local bus stop is close by. Ample off street parking...

'We have just returned from a couple of nights at Brewers Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and bigger than it seems from the photos. Foolow is convenient access to some lovely areas and walks in the Peak District, and just a 10-15 minute walk from the cottage is the local pub that does fabulous food and has very friendly staff. " Terrible stay. Upon arrival we had to wait to check in. No greeting, no explanation, just a key handed over by an unfriendly receptionist. Absolutely no sense of hospitality. The room was far from clean: stained bedding, mold in the bathroom, and a damaged wall. The phone didn’t even work, which meant I had to go to reception in the middle of the night when my friend became sick. The staff showed no empathy at all, even laughed at the situation, and said cleaning could only be done the next day. When it finally happened, it was careless and far below any acceptable standard. The spa was completely unusable due to the overwhelming smell of mold. Unhealthy and unsafe for guests. Staff were unfriendly throughout no explanations, no assistance, no interest. At check-out, not even a “How was your stay?” just taking the key and saying “bye.” This property claims to be pet-friendly, but honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it even for pets. It was dirty, unhealthy, and completely disrespectful to paying guests. In short: this hotel is a disgrace. We demand a partial refund and strongly advise others not to book here. "
