Swannanoa is a charming, serene community nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, blending natural beauty with local charm. Surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills, it offers a peaceful, small-town atmosphere. As you drive up the hill toward our home, you'll pass through neighborhoods that embody the rural, small-town vibe. While Hurricane Helene left its mark on the area, the community has bounced back quickly and appreciates your support during this time. Your visit means the world to those rebuilding and helps keep the spirit of Swannanoa alive.

Ideally situated between Asheville and Black Mountain, Swannanoa is also a short drive from other nearby gems like Hendersonville and Maggie Valley. Here, you’ll find a delightful mix of shopping, dining, art enclaves, and landmarks such as the Biltmore Estate. The region is perfect for exploring local vineyards, farms, and natural wonders like Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and Pisgah National Forest, all showcasing the stunning beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The entire home is yours to use, with the exception of the owners closet.

The majority of roads and businesses are open, though you may still notice some signs of the storm’s impact as you drive to the home. ABOUT THE HOME:
While the home can accommodate up to 16 guests, groups of 10–12 tend to experience the space most comfortably. We’re happy to host all 16 if needed, just know it will feel a bit more intimate at full capacity.

Hygge House is spread across three thoughtfully designed levels, blending modern comfort with a warm, minimal aesthetic. Inspired by the Scandinavian concept of hygge (pronounced hoo-gah), the space is centered around coziness, connection, and slowing down—creating a calm, inviting environment that carries throughout the entire home.

MAIN LEVEL: You’ll enter on the mid-level, where the heart of the home awaits.
🛋️ LIVING ROOM: Seating for 8, a cozy fireplace, a pull-out couch (full-size bed), and a 55-inch smart TV with Roku Live Local Channels.

🧑‍🍳 KITCHEN: We have a fully stocked kitchen with dinnerware, utensils, pots/pans, a variety of appliances, and a coffee bar—perfect for making a meal at home.

🍽️ DINNING: Dinning table sits 8 people comfortably. Kitchen counter sits 4.

🛏️ BEDROOM OVERVIEW: 5 Bedrooms comfortably sleep 12 people. The living room and game room have a pull-out couch that can each accommodate 2 people for a total of 16 people. There is a 55" TV in each bedroom with Roku Live Local Channels and Streaming Services for you to log into your profile.

🏠 THINGS TO NOTE 🏠:

We want you to enjoy every moment of your stay, so here’s a heads-up on a few things about our mountain retreat. Don’t worry—most of these are just to keep you informed and prepared for the best experience possible!

‣ OPEN SPACES: The property isn’t fenced and sits on a hill, so keep that in mind when exploring outside.
‣ 🐶 DOG STUFF: We’ve got your furry friends covered—we have water/food bowls, extra poop bags, 1 crate for small/medium sized dogs (30x19x19), and furniture protectors
‣ 🏠 NEIGHBORHOOD VIEWS: From the decks, you'll have a view of two neighboring homes below, and from the front of the house, you'll see two more nestled up the hill.
‣ 🚗 PARKING: There’s room for 4 mid-sized cars, plus an extra spot on the gravel pad to the left of the home.
‣ 🪲 FRIENDLY CRITTERS: We have regular pest control, but since we're in the mountains, you'll definitely encounter some friendly bugs—it's all part of the adventure! To minimize their visits, keep doors and windows closed. You may see pest control around the exterior during your stay as we work to maintain this mountain paradise.
‣ 🐻 WILDLIFE: Keep an eye out for bears (there are black bears in the area) and other wildlife—please don’t leave food in your cars and keep trash secured.
‣ 🏠 FULL ACCESS: The entire home is yours, except for the owner’s closet.
‣ 🗑️ TRASH: We have a bear proof container if you need to take the trash out.
‣ 🌳 LANDSCAPING: Our landscaper may stop by to keep things looking fresh.
‣ ⛽️ GAS SERVICE: Scheduled on Fridays between 9-9. They’ll fill up by the street, so no interruptions for you!
‣ 🚗 FOOD DELIVERY: Insta cart, Whole Foods, Doordash, Uber Eats and Kickback deliver to the home. Options are limited for restaurant delivery, Kickback seems to have the most options.
‣ 📷 FOR SECURITY: There’s one exterior Ring doorbell camera and one floodlight camera at the front door. NO indoor cameras.
‣ 🧯 SAFETY GEAR: Fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide detectors are all in the home.
‣ ⛰️ MOUNTAIN LIFE: The views are breathtaking, but sometimes the power/wifi might go out during bad weather. Just a bit of mountain charm!
‣ 🔥 GRILL: The BBQ is run off a propane tank, we always have one extra tank available.
‣ 🚕 TRANSPORTATION: Uber & Lyft service the home, but we recommend scheduling rides in advance since we’re in a smaller town—especially for airport trips. You can also use local services like AVL Ride Service or Greater Asheville Transportation LLC.
‣ ✈️ TRAVEL INSURANCE: We always recommend travel insurance for peace of mind, in case your plans need to change, it will have you covered!
