'Peaceful hotel, super friendly staff, beautiful surroundings '

'Holiday Inn in Dumfries is goed bevallen. '

'The hotel is very nice, with lovely rooms and beautiful surroundings. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, although they often had to juggle multiple roles at once, which sometimes made them difficult to find. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay, and if I return to Castle Douglas, I would happily stay here again.'

'Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.'

'The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly...

'Arrived for 4pm check in called two different numbers no response on either , eventually got someone and got checked in at 5 pm place was freezing and was informed that the boiler was broken so no heating or hot water, place looked like it was decorated back in the 70's and never been touched since , was told to leave out door open and they'd put a heater in room for us which thankfully we didn't as was later told that place is used to home the homeless and immigrants so both our friends and...

'Property located in peaceful location. Not much in the walking distance. You can walk to local pub in about 25 minutes. We drove everywhere. Very nice beach in 6 minutes drive. '

'Check in was slow as no one was there but otherwise it was Ok.'

'After waking up in the morning the room and our clothes felt a bit dampy. Maybe because the room is located in the cellar. It had good coffee and tea facilities. The doorlock of the shared bathroom was loose / not working well. By closing the door from the outside and nobody was inside the door went locked. For tall people the ceiling of the bathroom could be to low. We had a good breakfast and the staff was very helpful.'
