Big Buck Lodge in Tahoe City - large home with hot tub

This rustic, large luxury home offers you plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your Tahoe vacation. Step into our large living room with plush leather sectional, heated floors, flat-screen TV, and stone-lined fireplace. This house comes with a Peloton, ping pong, fire pit, hot tub, grill, Roku TV, bikes, foosball, 2 refrigerators, a fully stocked kitchen, and a peek of the lake from the balcony. You'll quickly find all of the space in the open and fully-equipped kitchen to be tastefully and efficiently used, with multiple sinks and uncrowded appliances ensuring there's never a line to refresh your drink or grab a snack.

On this main entry-level, you'll find the first of six bedrooms. The wood-trimmed primary bedroom with a California King bed, ceiling fan, and elevated ceilings welcomes you to take a respite, and the attached ensuite awaits to comfort you with a walk-in steam shower and separate soaking tub.

On the lower level of this home, you will find five more bedrooms. Three of these bedrooms are queen ensuites with another queen bedroom, shared hallway bathroom, and a bunk room with twin over full-sized beds and a game area. The lower level also has a second living room and access to the beautiful backyard and hot tub.

The amazing amenities in the home feature a ping pong table, foosball table, and Nintendo. Or enjoy the use of our bicycles in the summer and take the bike path to Tahoe City, Palisades Tahoe, or to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe.

Great for group rental

We booked for a large group unfortunately most could not make it due to weather/driving conditions. Beautiful and spacious great for groups who have smaller children too. The kitchen was amazing! Everything you could need or ask for!

Big Buck Lodge. A Lovely Ski Lodge

Big Buck Lodge is a beautiful home with windows that bring the outdoors in. With the numerous ensuite bedrooms and large bunkbed room, the 12 of us had plenty of room to be together or to be alone. We enjoyed many games and conversations at the table built for 12. The location of the home is excellent.Our complaints were few: an icy driveway which didn't get de-iced very well when we requested it be done; a steam shower that we couldn't turn on; lightbulbs out in a couple places.We would gladly return to Big Buck Lodge for either summer fun or winter skiing.the dining room forfor 12. Awesome house for a big group

We stayed here with a group of 10 family members for a ski trip - and this place was great. The house is very spacious, everyone pretty much has their own bathroom, the kitchen is stocked with every utensil or piece of cookware you need to cook at home (I think there are 3 coffee makers and 3 coffee bean grinders?), the dining table is huge and fits everyone easily, there are two TV/sofa rooms for everyone to relax, and there's a large supply of towels and extra linens (not to mention 2 washer/dryers). Our kids (8 and 10) also loved the kids bunk room - they had their own space too. The hot-tub is great in the backyard for relaxing after skiing (note to the owners: you need to fix the cover, as the arm is broken to easily put it on/off). Check-in was easy with the management company texting the code to get in. Would definitely recommend for large groups. Any downsides? They were pretty minor in our book. For example, it does feel like this unit hosts a lot of large groups: it could use a coat of paint in some of the bedrooms, could dust some of the higher-up fixtures, there was snow in the driveway that wasn't super well shoveled (but good-enough), the sofa is feeling a little worn. But not deal breakers -- these things knock it from a 10 to a 7.5 in our book. We all liked staying here (no regrets) but just calling these out in case you expect it to be immaculate like a luxury hotel. It's a really large, upscale house, that's solid for hosting big groups.

Great Place for a Family Winter Trip

This is a gorgeous home that has everything you could possibly want. It has lots of room on multiple levels. The kitchen is completely stocked with every dish or cooking utensil as well as blenders, multiple coffee, pots, slow cookers, etc.. Good amount of Ispices that help you get going. It has a great icemaker. A Jacuzzi and the beds are extremely comfortable. As with any big home, there’s sometimes some things that are not caught when the cleaners come in but a call to the rental company was met with immediate response and qualified vendors that came out and fix things immediately. I highly recommend this home for multiple family getaway either winter or summer.

Perfect stay all around.

The house is absolutely stunning and in a great location. The kitchen was stocked with everything you'd ever need for cooking with a group. Tons of appliances, space, dishware. I have no complaints about this property. I have never stayed at a better stocked home. The kitchen is ready for whatever you want to prepare and the bathrooms are also well-stocked. The garage is full of toys, coolers, and equipment that is enough for any large party. Overall a very thoughtfully prepared rental home. We will return for sure!

Nice Home

Very nice home in an older residential neighborhood (one of the nicest perhaps). Kitchen is fully equipped with tons of glasses and dishware! Keurig may have been broken, but there was a regular one there, so NBD. Mini ice in small refrigerator was a big hit, although my husband did hear the ice maker running at night. Mattresses were fine although I think new ones should be considered because some did sag. Overall very clean. 5 full bathrooms which was great for our large group. Very close to Tahoe City which was quite convenient. Lots of walking and biking trails in area. Beach was about a mile from the house...easy walk down, straight uphill almost the entire return walk. Only real downfall was that we could not turn off or control the radiant heat. There were thermostats, but it didn't seem to make a difference how they were set. House always seemed to be 75 degrees despite being set at 63 --outside temp was high 30s/low 40s at night, 60s in day. We did not contact anyone so cannot comment on owner/management response to the issue.

Nice house with some issues during the stay

The house is well appointed and the amenities were great. The layout was great for our group. We did have some issues with our stay. The mattress springs were saggy in several of the bedrooms and resulted in aching backs. The ice machine was directly above one of the bedrooms and made a loud buzzing noise every 5-10 seconds that made sleeping difficult. There was a large leak from the kitchen sink that poured water into the bedroom below. To their credit, the latter two issues were resolved by property management in a reasonable amount of time. However for the price paid, I would have expected a smoother stay.

The communal spaces in this property are outstanding. The kitchen was special and had every piece of cook and eating ware you would ever need. It was hot while we were in Tahoe so the bedrooms were pretty warm at night, and some fans were too noisy to use. But overall, it was a great experience.
