During our stay, we had unrestricted access to the owner's private dock, and there is an outdoor bbq and outdoor kitchen belonging to the owner that you also can use. The lake and dock are spectacular, especially at sunset. Kayaks are available with a signed waiver. Very thoughtful. The birds and wildlife are amazing - eagles, egrets, herons, ibis, lots of fish I know nothing about, and a beautiful view.
The apartment is vintage with age appropriate cabinetry and furnishings. Very charming. The host and hostess live on the property and they are both very helpful and accommodating, in fact they went out of their way to offer us additional perks while we were here. The hostess is an avid gardener and her yard is lovely. The apartment is on the second floor of a detached office/storeroom on the property, with a roof between the owner's house and the office/storeroom. So you are fully private and the host does not intrude in any way. They have an adorable Doxie named Penny. They were also very kind about allowing me to have my two small dogs.
Very conveniently located to shopping, including downtown Tavares, Eustis and Mt Dora, all are about 5-10 minutes away by car.
