As others have mentioned, the hotel itself is quaint and nicely decorated. What I did not realize when I booked is how high up a steep hill it is. This is a huge inconvenience when one comes back after a day of sightseeing an already hilly city. Furthermore, the hotel is located on a street that has no direct car access (one must phone in advance to have them open up the street). Since we did not know this, nor did we have a phone to make such a call, we were forced to carry our suitcases up this very steep hill.
The staff is friendly enough, though I would not say they are particularly helpful. When we tried to get advice about possible day trips we could join, they were only willing to tell us about the private tours offered by the hotel. As was the case in other Tbilisi scenarios, one ends up feeling like those providing services are trying to take advantage.
All in all, I found the hotel to be nice and cozy, but would not stay here again. The location is not good at all - in my opinion - with there being plenty of better options at the bottom of the hill on either side of the river.
