A unique South Devon apartment for two, this romantic retreat will be your very own corner of paradise, right on the riverfront in the heart of colourful Teignmouth. The two-storey hideaway enjoys panoramic views out across the River Teign and offers sweeping vistas that capture the seaside village of Shaldon and distant Dartmoor National Park. Ideal for days out on the beach, walks along the South West Coast Path and spending time in the English Riviera (5.5 miles), perfect for you and your loved one to enjoy some quality time away together. Head down from the first-floor apartment and walk 150 metres to the beach you overlook, to swim, picnic, launch your own canoe or hire a paddleboard or kayak. Browse the town’s independent shops and dine out, also within 150 metres of the building. Venture 10 miles into Dartmoor to spend the day exploring the beautiful landscapes of the national park.
Why not attend one of the many events in the area like the Shaldon Regatta, Teignmouth Air show, Torbay Air Show, Devon County Show along with many various local food and music festivals to enjoy.
Before stepping into this delightful property, take a moment to appreciate your surroundings of sandy streets and other colourful beach houses. Climb the external steps and head into the entrance hall to find that the seaside charm continues in the form of ocean-inspired artworks, blue and white colours and splendid views over the water. The property’s reverse-level design means that the sumptuous bedroom is on the ground floor, greeting you as you enter. Here, find an airy king-size bedroom with fantastic waterside views and a Smart TV for lazy mornings under the duvet. Climb the stairs to the first floor and uncover the social heart of the home, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, after days of coastal adventure, sink into the lounge space’s soft seating to rest weary muscles, flicking on the Smart TV or simply taking in the far-reaching views over the river. When stomachs begin to rumble, move over to the kitchen space and find everything you need to cook up a Devonshire feast for your special someone, and gather at the nearby dining table to plan the next day’s itinerary over food. Completing the interior is a well-appointed shower room for washing off the sand after days on the beach.
The property offers no private outdoor space, but guests are totally spoiled, being so close to a quiet beach. Enjoy morning and evening strolls along here, and if you’re bringing your own small boat or kayak, by prior arrangement with the owner you can make use of their mooring trot. Private parking for one small car is available on the forecourt, and there are also pay and display car parks close by.
