Hut in Holdens Creek op oostelijke oever van VA

Schilderachtige hut gelegen op Holdens Creek Farm in Temperanceville VA. Gebouwd op onze boerderij in 2005. Gelegen op minder dan 30 minuten van de historische binnenstad van Onancock, Assateague Beach, Chincoteague en NASA op Wallops Island. De hut heeft een kleine keuken, een loft met 3 grote bedden, verwarming, airconditioning en een open haard. Het heeft ook een pooltafel en een dartbord. Breng een boot daar is een eigen boothelling en aanlegsteiger naar de Holdens Creek die naar de Chesapeake Bay leidt. De hut is geweldig voor jagers, vissers of voor iemand die achterover wil leunen en ontspannen op een rustige plek.

Es ist herrlich gelegen absolut ruhig bis auf die Grillen und Vögel. Die Küche ist etwas zu klein aber es ist fast alles machbar. Die Einrichtung ist schön aber hier und da könnte mal was ausgetauscht werden oder alte Sachen aus den Schränken entsorgt werden. Die Ansprüche an Sauberkeit sollten nicht zu hoch sein in so einer Waldhütte aber ab und an dürften alle Möbel mal weggerückt werden und eine Grundreinigung gemacht werden. Uns hat es trotzdem gefallen vor allem auch der Billardtisch. Wir würden es definitiv noch einmal buchen.

peace and quiet in a tranquil setting

This cabin is in an impressive setting, with a babbling brook just outside the front door. The interior is charming and clean with country decor. The large bedroom and bathroom provide all the room and comfort needed. The owner was immediately responsive to a question. The kitchen is very small.

Very nice and fairly new property. A good value to get away from people and things. The only down side is there is not a lot to do around the area. After we saw Chincoteague island and the ponies, the NASA Museum at Wallops Island, Makemie Park (not a big deal and way too many bugs around there), the KOA Campground nearby, the town of Saxis, and the Great Machipongo Clam Shack (about an hour down the road). It was a bit too quiet for us. Then, we got a call that we needed to come home for a family matter. Checking out was very easy and no hassles. A good location if you want to get away from people and things. Hosts were very pleasant and courteous.

It's quiet and clean ..you have heat air condition water Wi-Fi and two televisions..The bathroom is upstairs.. food and grocery stores are nearby.. a nice pier with nice dinner places in Chincoteague about 15 minutes away

Quiet retreat

It was a very wonderful quiet retreat for the weekend. We had issue with no hot water when we arrived, after contacting the property manager we had a resolution in the hour. On our second day arriving back from our outings the temperature in the cabin was hotter than outside and was uncomfortable. I contacted the property manager and he let me know he would have it looked at around 2 hour later we had the ac fixed and it dropped to a comfortable temperature. It was a wonderful place to stay even when the issue popped up they were resolved promptly. Definitely a top choice for staying in the area.

Valentines Day Getaway!

Rented this awesome cabin to spend Valentines Day with spouse and friends. The cabin was more than we expected. There’s a cute bar area, tons of comfortable seating, gas fireplace, cool decorations including antique items, beautiful property, and much more. There was lots of essentials already there so we only brought food. The pool table and dart board gave us plenty to do in addition to the tvs both in living room and bedroom. The host answered all my questions in a timely manner and I had a lot. Everything was ready when we got there and we would definitely come back again. Just one note to potential visitors. The steps to the loft where beds and bathroom is located are a little intimidating if afraid of heights, or allowing a small child to walk/crawl up them. It also got quite warm upstairs but the host had signs to assist in resolving this issue. There is a house that you can see from cabin but nobody bothered us. The kitchen is very small but has everything you need to cook, wash dishes and some prep work but the fridge is full size with ice maker.Thanks Karen for being super patient and allowing us to share this cabin with you!

Quiet and peaceful

Everything was just wonderful! Out in the country off the beaten path, but close enough to towns to be convenient. Yes, the kitchen is small but we don’t vacation to stay in and cook. Too many good restaurants to go to in Chincoteague alone. Owners were always responsive throughout the process from asking questions before booking to our last day there. We will definitely keep this one on our list of future places to stay!

Peaceful and lovely but seriously no hot water

It was so quiet a hummingbird seemed loud! As in many of the reviews, the hot water doesn't work. A bracing rinse after the beach ok with you? If not, look elsewhere. Also! Go get a fish sandwich at Metompkin Seafood - it's $7 and the best.

I came to this property the first time in June this year with my daughter And this time I brought my husband and my two closest friends. Everyone loves the cabin. Quiet and Amazing

We rented this cabin to spend a couple of nights to be close to other places we planned to spend time at. The cabin is much bigger than I thought it would be space wise. The kitchen is tiny, only one person can fit in there at a time. It worked well for us, but just know if you plan to make a big meal with lots of prep you will have to utilize the dining room table for that. The ad states there is Satellite TV but for us it didn’t seem to be hooked up, again we weren’t there to spend all day watching TV so the antenna worked for us. You won’t be bothered all the way back there and there is plenty of space outside and in to have alone time. We had one issue with the hot water but a quick response from the host we were up and running in minutes. The cabin does sit near the creek but do not expect to walk out the back door to it, its back in the marsh. Overall a beautiful place to spend a weekend, it fit exactly what our family needed and I would highly recommend. We will be back.

Nice cabin. The layout is a little off, though. Beautiful stone fireplace but the couches are positioned towards the TV. The bar is nice, but it would have been better to have a nicer kitchen. The cabin is beautifully decorated and there were many amenities provided. No regular coffee pot, but a nice keurig. Be sure to bring k-cups. If you need groceries there is a nice Food lion in town. Beds were comfy and linens were nice. Although we didn’t use it there is a grill and fire pit outside. Really nice yard. Steps going upstairs are pretty steep and a bit slick with socks. I loved the claw foot tub, but it might be a bit difficult for some people to get in and out of. Short distance to Chincoteague. This was a nice place for a short, couple of days, stay.
