Country fun!!!
Come getaway from it all at our delightfully peaceful single wide home that sleeps six, and is sparkling clean! The A/C keeps you cool in the Texas heat, and there are lots of creature comforts to make your stay a happy one! We've added a fire pit and our huge gazebo on the pond has been renovated and now has a fridge, shower and also barbecue grill lakeside!
"The Porch" is a part of the beautiful 500 +acres Lone Mesquite Ranch, which was formerly an 1870s cotton plantation.
Our property has been a well known landmark for many years and is a working ranch. We also have good stables and a fully equipped horse facility. For travelers with one or two horses, we have a separate stall barn adjacent to The Porch, where your horses will be safe and secure.
Our beautiful two story 1200 sq.ft. gazebo also has a paddle boat and is on a "catch and release" pond, heavily stocked with Bass, Perch, Tilapia and Catfish, for those that like to fish or swim or barbecue out under the stars! A 3 yr old just caught a 6 1/2 lb Bass!
We are half a mile off I-20, 38 miles from downtown Dallas, and only 22 miles from Canton, Texas, host of the largest flea market in the United States. Come join us for awesome views on a fabulous ranch for a most memorable stay!
We also have delightful woodland trails where you can see many creatures and walk along the cleared manicured trails.
We are proud to say almost all of our guests have given us 5 Star reviews!
The ONLY Unfortunate review was as a result of 5 ladies forgetting to a key to the property and deciding it was our fault they couldn't get back in.

Peaceful Country Escape
Located on 450 acres with a working farm, unit is clean, well furnished , has good AC/heating system. Owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Loved the front porch that was covered so we could hang out during a night time Texas thunderstorm, and a separate area with an outdoor fire pit for when weather is nice. Plenty of room to take a walk out in the pasture with a pond that has a paddleboat. This is a great place to escape to the country life and relax and rejuvenate. Highly recommend.

Great escape close to Dallas
Scenic and relaxing respite so close to Dallas. Hosts were helpful and accessible. House was very comfortable. Wonderful large 2-level dock equipped with fishing gear - good place to fish, paddle boat or watch the sunset. Really enjoyed our stay.

Country charm and relaxation
The perfect couples getaway! My husband, cousin and her husband got away for a long weekend getaway for some relaxation away from the city. We absolutely loved this place, quiet country charm but close to everything We enjoyed fishing, the fire pit, and seeing all the animals. Anne was a super host She was very friendly and mad us feel like we were family, we did not feel like strangers. We will definitely go back to this location when we need that quiet getaway!

Not a good experience.
Went with 5 other women for a Canton shopping trip. First - the listing is wrong:The listing says this property is 14 miles from Canton but it is actually 31 miles. The trailer was dirty: the refrigerator was filthy. The first day the kitchen was invaded with thousands of ants that they thankfully sprayed for. They do not provide adequate paper products: The owner only provided one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towels. We had six women and asked for more and were told they do not provide more. Finally, Don’t expect the owner to respond if you have an emergency. We were locked out of the trailer on the second night when we returned about 9:15 pm. The owner would not answer texts or emails. They live on the property and we rang the doorbell of their house and no answer even though there were several barking dogs inside. The owner told us the next day they went to bed at 8:15 and didn’t hear the calls or the doorbell. We had two diabetics with us that needed their insulin so we called a lock smith to get in. We have asked for a refund for the locksmith but the owner has not responded. VRBO was great when we called them and offered to put us in a hotel but the diabetics really needed to get their insulin. Overall the worst VRBO rental I have stayed in. I would not recommend.

Great place for rest and relaxation
This was our second trip to this location. I am not sure which visit was the best. They were both relaxing, enjoyable. The scenery was still as beautiful as the first time we went. The owners have worked to make sure your stay is enjoyable and delightful. They are continuously working to add things to the property so you can feel at home. The lake and the fishing were super great. The place is wonderful for fishing. Thank you Ann and Dan for yet another memorable moment..... The Smith's
