'Check in area was so loud because the lobby was closed. It was difficult to hear over the ice and soda machines. The room smelled like cigarettes and marijuana and the fridge was so loud we had to unplug it. There was a big gap under the door. That said, the staff was friendly. The room looked like it had some updates recently. And the bed was really comfortable. '

'We had a good stay at the HGI in Gastonia. Generally clean, with some signs of wear in the room, but otherwise fine. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful at the front desk (Crystal was a standout- VERY nice!). The bartender was also nice and helpful when kids in our group wanted to order food. The lounge areas outside and in the lobby were good for adult hangouts. The ONLY things we didn't love were that the pool area was SO loud that we ended up leaving when a group of about 7...

He was very kind, helpful, and hard working. He went over and beyond to assist me. He was very informative. He needs to be the executive manager here and I'm sure the place would do better.
