we will be back
I originally was looking for a hotel and all were booked. I found this on VRBO. We had such a good experience that the hotels are out and if we are back in this area again I want to plan my vacation around staying in Rays cottage. Next time I will bring my fishing gear and plan on a week. Awesome deck and view. It was the quiet time that we needed. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay.

We can't say enough about this place. The owner lives in the upper half which is completely separated from the bottom rental. Some may not like that but we were glad to have an immediate response to any questions we had. We had a very nice deck with an amazing view of the lake and goat island. The place is well stocked. Ray also rents a kayak, paddle board and a pontoon. The dock is so nice that we didn't really need to use the boat. Very relaxing place. Thanks Ray!

What a great time! I think one would have to go a long way to find a more congenial and accommodating host. The view is probably the best part of Ray's lake cabin -- but as a woman, I really appreciated the 'better' quality of guest towels and toilet paper. Oh, and the abundance of bed pillows. Thank you, Ray!

Very nice little rental with a wonderful lake view. Clean and adequate for our needs. Owner was very friendly and easy to communicate with. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Pay attention to which listing you’re viewing. Expedia is different than VRBO. We didn’t realize tha
My family made it an awesome experience not the host. Had no clue going in that he lived upstairs! Be prepared for that. Get the insurance offered, you’ll be be glad you did. He’ll find something wrong . Ask about trash removal & power usage. The host controls the air & it was hot. Don’t think he has the right temperament to be a host.My family & I left the unit cleaner than when we arrived. Would not recommend to friends.

Tracy, I'm sorry your upset because I made you pay for damages your family did to my property. You stated only two guest , and both nights you had 9 or more guest spending the night there. 12 slam full , 50 gallion bags of trash I had to haul off from your visit. You was shown that it states it's a duplex and I live upstairs. You didn't pay for the extra guest and lied to VRBO and myself. I hope in the future you as an adult will be trueful to others as I have been to you.

Outstanding host
Ray was an amazing host. He was extremely responsive with any questions building up to our stay. Communicated with us on our way in to ensure there was no delay in welcoming up and getting us into the property. He shared his wealth of knowledge of the area to assist us in finding places to dine. We did bring our dog with us and he welcomed her just as much as us. His property is perfect for hanging out and/or renting his water sport equipment for use. We took many trips to and around goat island in his kayak and on his paddle board. He also made sure that the equipment we rented was out and ready for use so that there was no delay in our family jumping straight into the water. He was extremely accommodating when we shared with him that our son was a bit chilled over night and needed an extra blanket. He didn’t have one on hand but ran out quickly to buy one. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we will be returning. General notes, the property was well maintained, clean, properly cooled, Ray is extremely respectful of your space and the outside setup was perfect. Please consider Ray’s property for your next stay. You won’t be disappointed.

As Advertised!
This little cabin was nothing fancy, but the location and property were outstanding! My husband and I plus our 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. We spent an entire day swimming, jumping off the dock and paddling back and forth to feed the goats. We took advantage of the massive porch and grilled out with the provided bbq. Ray was great, as previously reviewed, the neighbors were incredibly friendly... and we even found a great trail to run within a 20 min drive. After a case of white claws and a mild sunburn, we give this stay 5 stars. Will return!

Perfect lake cottage retreat
I was looking for a place that was secluded, peaceful, and offered a little piece of nature to enjoy, so I booked this perfect looking little lake cottage. We were not disappointed one bit. The listing is as described and offers a few more subtle touches here and there, that make it a comfortable place to relax and unwind. One important note is that 3 GPS maps were used to get to the place and the only accurate one was via cell phone/ google maps. The factory GPS and the dashboard plug-in GPS both ended inaccurately at a corner about a mile from the property. This was a family meet up where we chose a place halfway between us to meet and we will definitely go back. Ray was a great host! Thanks, Ray!

Peaceful lake getaway
This adorable lake house was just what we needed in March! We had a sunny, restful trip full of fishing, bird watching, wildlife, and great views. We even visited Goat Island! Ray was an excellent host. He was attentive but not intrusive and his love of the area shows in his conversations. This newly remodeled "fishing cabin" had everything we needed on hand with stores and restaurants just 20 min away. We will be back!

Me and my family of five had a short and sweet stay here. I wanted to just relax, my boyfriend and sister wanted to fish and my mom wanted to gamble so this spot was perfect for our group. What a great view from the deck and living room. We had all the essentials and necessities needed. Although smaller than our usual rentals, it was comfy and cozy. My boyfriend caught nice sized bass and catfish. My mom was able to enjoy WindCreek Casino just a short drive away. (18 mins) What an accommodating host Ray is. Very informative and personable. We will be back!

A calm stay
We spent all weekend in the water and on the dock. The air conditioning was kicking inside. Town was just about ten minutes away for groceries. Everything was glorious and restful.

A slice of paradise!
I rented Ray’s place to bring my parents and other family members to the lake for a weekend. Ray and his daughter are excellent hosts who were very attentive and welcoming during our stay. Ray is a great conversationalist with vast knowledge of the lake. The property now has a stove and grill, as well as microwave and toaster oven. We enjoyed the dock the most with easy access for young children to swim in shallow water. The fishing here is great. This is a very tranquil area of the lake with limited boat traffic which makes it great to just lounge around. It was a great stay and we’ll definitely be back. We would stay here year round if we could!
