'Very short overnight stay, wish we had time to stay longer and make use of the food options. It was very cosy, beds were excellent and very spacious. Parking was easy and felt safe and quiet. Would definitely return. Good value.'

'We cannot fault the service staff food and the location excellent it's just the overall finish needs some renovation to the outside finish,it's a bit tired but all that aside we enjoyed our stay staff were all very polite and helpful great. '

'This was an overnight stay on the way to Cornwall. Very pleasantly surprised as the pub is in a beautiful area with lovely walks along a canal. The pub is very friendly and spacious with outside seating. Breakfast was huge with plenty of choice.'

Kies zeker niet voor continental, want dat betekent dat je alleen cerials en yoghurt met wat fruit hebt. sap uit pak of fles. Over het geheel viel dit erg tegen. Als je in een oud kasteel zit, kun je verwachten dat het niet al te lux is, maar je mag op zijn minst voor deze prijs wat ruimte verwachten en een goed ontbijt....

I have stayed there twice before so had an idea of what to expect. I had one of the external ground floor rooms which made it easier to go back and forth to the car park. 'Bright friendly welcome with tea and biscuits. The gardens are extensive and lots to interest. The house feels like a medieval manor although is C19 Tudor revival. The bedroom had everything needed and mercifully no television, was clean and welcoming. Al in all a lovely stay with a lovely host.'

The room was very comfortable with some excellent features, such as the wonderful bath in the very spacious lounge, the wood burner fire and a cafetiere. The floorboards creak (as they should do in a near 500 year old building!!) but the beds...

The tea/coffee/hot chocolate area on each floor rather than in rooms gave more variety, better quality and the refillable water bottle in the room to use for the filtered water at the refreshment station was excellent.
