Hello Kathy, I'm very sorry that you found issue with the cleanliness of the Colleen guestroom in which you stayed. Let me assure you that the rooms are thoroughly vacuumed (area rugs, carpets, and wood floors) after each guest leaves. I believe what you saw on the area rug was fibers from the white portions of the rug design. This is an old rug and those fibers are difficult to remove. In light of your observation though, I am replacing the area rug with a brand new one this weekend. As for the hair in the bathroom, there is a hairline crack in one of the floor tiles next to the toilet. Could this possibly be what you saw? In any case, I will ensure that greater observation and diligence is accomplished in our cleaning process. Again, I apologize for your feeling that the room was not up to your cleanliness expectations and I will take steps to improve the guest experience in all our rooms. Hi Lisa, Thank you for providing your review. I'm not sure what downstairs living areas you are referring to that you found uncomfortable. Our parlor is furnished with antique chairs & sofa. Our guests that use the parlor find the furnishings fine and comfortable. Mattress comfort is a very personal thing. Some folks like firm while others prefer soft. I'm sorry if you found the mattress in your guestroom uncomfortable, maybe compared to yours at home. If you visit us again, maybe a different room will provide a mattress more in line with what you are used to. We certainly appreciate your feedback and hope that you will stay with us again.

Thank you for the kind review. The Collen room is a fun little room and people are often surprised and enjoy the uniqueness of this room. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay.

I am sorry that the Colleen was not up to your standards. It is our smallest room which is why we price it the lowest and we make sure the room description indicates the size so people are not surprised when the arrive. The earplugs are there because we are downtown and close to a train station. Most people find they do not need them but we offer them for the occasional guest that is sensitive to sounds when they sleep.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon. We try hard to regulate the temperatures in the rooms but it is a central system as opposed to having control in each room. You can always contact us to adjust it for you. Also there is a fireplace in most rooms that can be easily lit to help warm you up. :)
