"There is reason to praise the hotel (great staff and WONDERFUL location) and reason to be very critical. Hence impossible to give it a star-rating. I have been a number of times in this hotel and will come back here. But... there is ALWAYS one elevator broken. And this time even both (be it for a couple of hours). Almost every guest complains it is 'wobbly' and has funny noises. One guest noted it was already 37 years old and should long have been replaced. I am sure its safe, don't worry if you fancy this hotel, but why not do it right instead of posting apology leaflets? This sums it up; why are Novotel not keeping the place up to date? It is a wonderful place, well booked at high prices. No reason why this could not be a top-notch venue!!! Why does the roof need supporting with scafollding when you can just repair this. Why are we seeing stained 80ties brown carpets in some rooms, and why haven't the rooms been made a bit more attractive (although they are functionally fine). Why does not every room have a Senseo coffee maker, but only some? Speaking of which, why at breakfast is the standard coffee some instant version, whilst the friendly barista makes you a wonderful cup but at extra cost? Why does the restaurant close at 9pm and the bar at 10 pm? On a Friday night! All in all, it just doesn't make sense. Like driving a Porsche with a moped engine. Novotel, I know you make lots of money with this hotel; please re-invest some as well before guests stop coming... Thanks."
