Mount Rose Cottage, Torquay, Babbacombe / St Marychurch

Mount Rose is een mooi driehonderd jaar oud, volledig opnieuw ingericht huisje met een ommuurde tuin (leuk en veilig voor de kinderen) dicht bij de zee, stranden, winkels, pubs en restaurants van St Marychurch en Babbacombe. Het is slechts tien minuten lopen van de prachtige Babbacombe Downs en de trein / lift naar Oddicombe Beach.

Het schilderachtige huisje is verrassend ruim met een grote, volledig uitgeruste familiekeuken, een gezellige woonkamer, twee badkamers; één beneden met een bad - ideaal voor kinderen - en één boven met een douche. De twee slaapkamers zijn ruim en voorzien van nieuwe bedden; één met een tweepersoonsbed en de andere met twee eenpersoonsbedden. Alle bedden hebben goede matrassen die ervoor moeten zorgen dat u van uw verblijf kunt genieten. Beneden in de woonkamer staat een slaapbank met een goed uitschuifbaar tweepersoonsbed.

Het huis is ingericht naar een hoge standaard en biedt het comfort van nieuw met de charme van oud.

Parkeren is gratis op de weg waar de woning aan ligt. De bushalte die u naar het centrum brengt naar de haven van Torquay, ligt op 30 meter van het huis en het duurt 12 minuten om bij de haven te komen.

Cottage location perfect, as close to our son’s home - enabling us to easily commute, whilst also having space. Met by local contact on arrival, who was friendly and helpful. Practical having extra downstairs bathroom and stone floor in kitchen with a toddler around!Main problem in the area is parking, but luckily we were aware of this having visited our son in Torquay. Need to be prepared though! Generally the property suited our needs on this occasion.

The cottage is very beautiful, renovated with much taste, spotless clean. Everything that you might need is there. It is a short walk to the coastal path, a little shop just around the corner and you are in walking distance to Babbacombe!

Friendly and well equipped cottage

We enjoied our holidays in the cottage. The kitchen is very well equipped and even without wifi it was never boring. Our kids were happy about the board games and the dvd collection. Also the short way to the beach or the town center of st. Marychurch.

Beautiful Babbacombe Cottage

We’ve just returned having stayed in the beautiful Mount Rose Cottage for our family break in Babbacombe. The host and key handler were fantastic- great with communication and responding to messages. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The rooms were of good sizes, having two bathrooms is always a bonus and the beds were really comfy! The cottage itself is only a 10 minute walk into the centre of St. Marychurch (up quite a steep hill). However, there’s a bus stop a few doors up the road which has regular services into St. Marychurch or Torquay. Parking could be an issue as there’s no driveway or designated parking spot for the cottage, but we were able to find a spot just up the road each day as others have mentioned in their reviews. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely amazing

Wow what can I say. Property was lovely. Lots of space for the children to play in the garden. Kitchen was well equipped. Games for the children to play. Beautiful sized rooms. 7 people in a 2 bed and isn't didn't feel over crowded. The bathroom downstairs has a lovely deep bath.(children loved that). Good distance for everything beaches shops takeaways. No WiFi made this break all the more relaxing. Really looking forward to booking again.

A lovely little cottage

This was a lovely place to stay for a trip to the area. It has a nice secluded garden - a shame the weather was not warm enough for us to make use of it. The description was accurate (the only thing we couldn't find was a coffee maker - luckily we had a one mug cafetière so just made multiple mugs from that). As others noted there are yellow lines outside, but we normally got a parking space on the same road. Just once I had to walk 5 mins back, but that wasn't a great problem.

A beautiful little Cottage in the heart of the prettiest little village

The Cottage is very pretty and surprisingly spacious with the benefit of two bathrooms. There is a lovely secluded raised garden which is a lovely suntrap and we were entertained by a lovely little Robin every time we sat out. Location is perfect with it being within walking distance of the beautiful beaches of Oddicombe and Babbacome and the shops of both St Mary Church Precinct and Babbacombe and the model village. The only down side is that there is NO onsite parking, rather there is on street parking which can mean parking some distance from the house. A beautiful property, at a really good rental price and somewhere we would stay again.

Fine for a quiet stay.

Nice property, well equipped easy walking distance into town. Parking was difficult though and everything closed very early even at the peak of the summer holidays. Nowhere nearby to eat out, so fine if you want to stay in and go to bed early but if you like a bit of life on your holiday you need to drive to Torquay or further afield and book any restaurants well in advance.

Awesome!

A wonderful cottage a credit to the owner it has been tastefully renovated mixing old with new. I can’t think of anything negative to say about this 300 year old cottage although it would’ve been nice to know about the history of it. The wine, chocolates and biscuits were a nice gesture after a long trip, my only gripe and it’s only a small gripe would be there’s no parking in front/on the property but there’s plenty on the streets nearby but don’t let that put you off. If I’m in Torquay again I’ll be definitely booking this place again. Sukhbinder
