Bringing a car across to Horn Island is hugely expensive so you're best way to get here is by foot on the ferry from Thursday Island and catch a taxi or take a tour to get around.

The only way to get to Thursday Island is by ferry - either from the Mainland or Horn Island, which has an airport. Peddels runs a twice-daily ferry service from Seisia at Cape York. It takes a little over an hour and on a good day you'll have a smooth trip and gorgeous views!
Green Hill Fort is a former military base. You can walk around the base and there's a museum in the underground buildings, which you might need to join a tour to see. There's a great view of the neighbouring Torres Strait Islands - just look at that water!!

Motel was cool & comfortable. Great bed & good TV. A little expensive. TI has very limited dining options. Shame not at least 1 good restaurant other than the pubs. Overall a memorable place to visit

Loyalty Beach, Cape York. Loyalty Beach stretches north of Seisia and, facing directly west, is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. There's a caravan park and camp ground that also has budget accommodation, a restaurant and bar. We spent four nights here and watching the sunset over the Torres Strait Islands from Loyalty Beach was a highlight. You can walk along the beach to Seisia, where there is a supermarket and the ferry to Thursday Island.
