De Almond Tree Garden is een zeldzame flat, gelegen op de begane grond van een oude 15e eeuw. commandery. Het beschikt over een grote tuin, een grote eetkamer, een groot bed, een groot vrijstaand bad, een groot bioscoopscherm ... midden in het centrum van Tours en toch op een ongelooflijk rustige locatie.

De flat is gelegen in de buurt van de kathedraal, in de buurt van de meest aantrekkelijke plekken in de stad. Ontdek op loopafstand de historische wijk, de kathedraal, het Grand Théâtre. De beste restaurants liggen op slechts een paar meter afstand en het kost u maar een paar minuten om te parkeren op de aangrenzende privéparkeerplaats.

Na het passeren van de ingang veranda, steekt u de binnenplaats en de tweede tuin over voordat u uw flat bereikt. U kunt lunchen op het terras, op de grote teakhouten tafel, of loop direct de keuken in.
Waarom niet genieten van een authentieke Italiaanse espresso, gemaakt met bonen vers gemalen in de koffiemachine?
Of misschien wilt u zich vestigen op de lederen bank om uw dagschema rustig voor te bereiden. Met de wifi-glasvezelverbinding kunt u met hoge snelheid op internet surfen.
Met de grote afstandsbediening kunt u het projectorscherm verlagen en alle home cinema-apparatuur beheren. U kunt tv-programma's of blu-ray-films bekijken vanaf de bank of vanuit een queensize bed op een platform. Met een draadloze hoofdtelefoon kunt u het volume verhogen zonder de persoon die naast u slaapt te storen.

Historische informatie:
Het huis werd gebouwd tijdens de eenwording van de stad Tours in de 12e eeuw, als onderdeel van het stadsmuurproject van Henri II Plantagenet. Het behoorde tot de Commanderij van de Orde van Sint Jan van Jeruzalem van Amboise. De oudste resterende delen dateren uit de 15e eeuw. Het hoofdgebouw is verdeeld over twee verdiepingen met gewelfde kelders waaruit verschillende ondergrondse gangen de bewoners toelieten te ontsnappen en hun toevlucht te zoeken, bijvoorbeeld in de kathedraal.
Joan of Arc zou daar zijn gebleven toen ze in 1429 naar Tours kwam om haar pantser te laten maken door meester-pantser Colas de Montbazon, wiens werkplaats in dezelfde buurt was, in de Rue Colbert.
Via de afrit met de naam "Tours Centre" op de A10 kunt u in 5 minuten bij de flat komen.

Very nice stay in Tours

Everything is there! Very good double bed, well equiped kitchen and a fantastic bathroom. Only thing that could be improved, two comfortable easy chairs (feauteuils) in stead of the bed couch.

Optimale Lage der Wohnung

Der Gastgeber war sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Da keine Klimaanlage vorhanden war, brachte er uns sofort am nächsten Tag einen Ventilator, der sehr hilfreich war, denn es waren während unseres Aufenthaltes täglich hohe Temperaturen ( immer über 30 Grad ). Nur wenige Schritte aus dem Haus und man ist mitten „im Geschehen“. Tours ist sehr gut fußläufig zu erkunden.

Loved apartment

This historic apartment is minutes away from restaurants and bars. No need to use the car to explore Tours. Further afield,Villandry Chateau is a must. The gardens are beautiful. The small town of Amboise is also worth a vist. We loved the Chateau of Chambord.

Désolé, la majeure partie sera en anglais. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cet appartement. I was sorry not to meet Jean-Philippe in person but we communicated a lot through VRBO. He was very kind about making alternative arrangements for a friend of his to let us into the apartment when our arrival was earlier than his availability. The shower and tub are super cool (and the hot water was delightfully hot, which was great after a rainy, cold day) but definitely takes getting used to in order to get the water to drain properly. We had to help paddle the water into the drain a bit, but it was worth it. We so enjoyed going to Les Halles and cooking at the apartment and had fun watching a DVD on the surround sound big screen during a rainy day. We enjoyed using this lovely location as our home base as we toured the Loire Valley.

Lovely in all respects!

This is indeed a luxury property less than one minute walk to the best restaurant street in Tours. The apartment was a total rebuild of an old stone structure and has many designer touches. The large projection TV is situated for viewing from the king size bed. Parking is at a lot less than one minute walk away. The Loire River is 3 minutes away on foot. You can easily walk to the riverside restaurants during the warm months. Ten foot plus ceilings and highest quality appliances. You will enjoy your stay at this property. Very well situated for drives to many of the Loire Chateaux.

The perfect apartment in Tours

Jean-Philippe the owner met me upon my arrival and showed me everything I needed to know about the apartment. It was super clean with lovely appointments, furniture, towels. Kitchen appliances etc. As I was in Tours for a French language course, I spent more time in the apartment than the average tourist. I also did not have a car but there is private parking….a luxury in Tours. The neighborhood is very convenient, close to a Carrefour for groceries, lots of restaurants and everything in the center of Tours. There is a lovely garden but the weather did not cooperate so I did not use it. Now for some of the criticisms of other guests. First the shower. It is true that if you are not careful the floor can get soaked by the rain shower, but I managed to use the shower curtain in such a way that the floor stayed dry. The owner also provides a very easy to use mop if necessary. Others complained about sharp edges on some of the furniture. That was true as well especially if you have young children staying but for me, I was just careful and when I went to sleep I moved the coffee table (it’s on wheels) so that I wouldn’t walk into it during the night. There is plenty of space for clothes and there is a very large bathroom, unusual in France. I would highly recommend the apartment for either a person traveling alone or a couple. If I return to Tours, I will definitely rent the apartment again. Myra USA

A Very Pleasant Surprise!

After a long and tiring day of travel, arriving at Les Jardine Des Amandiers was a wonderful and pleasant surprise. Jean-Philippe was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations. Great location and parking

We loved the location and the free secure parking. There were a few negatives. One was that the website claims air conditioning and there is none. There are many sharp corners on the dining table, the coffee table and the bed. The shower results in a lot of water that you must mop up each time you shower. There are little steps up to the bed and then to the bathroom that are a concern in the middle of the night. The property manager was great but we will not return,

Beautiful, and great location

This apartment is a hidden gem. It is well located within the center of town, so close to the restaurant's, walking distance to the railway station, and the parking makes it the ideal location to explore the region around tours. We stayed for several nights, and it was the perfect base to return to. The design of the apartment is idyllic. Nothing better than sitting outside, enjoying the fading sun with a glass of the local wine.

Stylish apartment in a prime location.

Well equipped modern apartment in a 14th century building, a bit of a paradox but it works beautifully. The apartment is in a secluded courtyard with gated access and has its own allocated parking space in a nearby parking lot. The old quarter of Tours is literally just around the corner and the Loire is a two minute stroll. A perfect base for exploring Tours and its surrounding area at a very reasonable price.

Sehr schöne Wohnung im Herzen der Altstadt

Die war sehr gut eingerichtet und es hat, ausser einer zusätzlichen Ablagemöglichkeit für die Kleidung, an nichts gefehlt. Das Entertainment Equipment lies keine Wünsche offen. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und hat bei unserem Problem mit dem Abwasser trotz Wochenende sehr schnell reagiert und für Abhilfe gesorgt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können die Wohnungen sehr empfehlen.

The apartment was amazing - beautifully appointed, clean and well-equipped for an extended stay. Location is excellent. In the heart of the old town, half a block to the Loire River, shops and cafes. 10 minute walk to Gare de Tours as a great hub to explore the Loire Valley by train. Tolle Unterkunft

Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral, Restaurants, Loire und Sehenswürdigkeiten sind quasi um die Ecke. Trotzdem ist es in der Wohnung wie auch im Hof ruhig. Dass ein abgeschlossener Parkplatz vorhanden ist, ist sehr praktisch. Die Wohnung ist gut und hochwertig ausgestattet, das Bett ist bequem. Ein kleines Manko ist vielleicht, dass nicht sehr viel Stauraum vorhanden ist, für uns war das aber nicht problematisch. Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt rundum zufrieden.

Bien situé à 2 pas de la Loire et des restaurants de la rue Colbert avec 1 Carrefour Express proche,nous y avons passé 2 semaines sans gros problème.A signaler toutefois une baignoire pas trés pratique pour des septuagénaires et sa douchette qui permet d'arroser une bonne partie du sol de la sdb!Absence de miroir grossissant et lit correct sans plus.

Appartement de qualité, au calme à deux pas d'un quartier animé

Nous gardons un très bon souvenir de nos trois nuits à Tours. Un super accueil de la part de Marine. Un appartement très bien situé, et bien agencé, à deux pas d'une rue avec beaucoup de bons restaurants. Les restaurants conseillés par les propriétaires sont aussi top. La place de parking est vrai plus!
