Cottage by the wildlife refuge
Good location and nicely kept unit. Kitchen was well equipped, except for the fact there was NO STOVE OR COOKTOP. This made preparing meals difficult.

We were greatly impressed! A wonderful accomadation, so close to the refuge that we were visiting. Our only problem--we couldn't get the toaster part of the toaster oven to work. we finally figured out how to use the broil part to broil our bread into toast.

Nice accommodations, Located in a federal wildlife reserve. The property was lovely. Just be aware that there is not stove or oven. Not a problem for me as it took me 3 days to discover that. LOL

This Suite had everything we needed. Host provided plenty of local information. Quiet. Clean. The trees are beautiful. We were there to explore Harris Neck WMA. So the location was perfect. Nice screen porch but it was too cold to use!

A gem in the refuge
This is a wonderful tabby cottage surrounded by the Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge; it has two suites, but there was no one else there when we were there. Live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Quick access on foot or by bike to the end of the refuge drive; the refuge has multiple hiking trails, including to a pool and fountain that are all that remains of a vacation home owned by one of the Lorillard tobacco heirs. Very comfy bed, updated bath. Easy access to coastal Georgia - don't miss the tour of Sapelo Island. No stove, but we did quite well with the toaster oven and microwave!

Nice, clean cabin, worked out well for our family traveling south thru Georgia. Beautiful natural park area surrounding area. Would like to stay again to see more of the fauna and wildlife in spring- fall.

The property was very clean and comfortable. The Old School Diner served great seafood. While the NWR (right across the street) was beautiful, the birds are seasonal, spring and summer.

Quiet and close to the boat ramp
My two teenage sons and I took a week to go saltwater fishing around Sapelo Island . The boat ramp is less than a mile from the rental which is very quiet and plenty of yard space. Very cozy place for what we needed.

Great outdoorsy place
The property is cabin-like - it’s not luxurious but clean and comfortable. Big yard for the dogs and screened patio for sitting outside. The wildlife refuge is just across the street - it has a driving loop with lots of short walking paths to ponds with waterfowl. Can’t walk the dogs there but near the cabin are quiet, shady streets perfect for walking. One tiny glitch with not receiving the lock-box code to get the front-door key, but the property manager was immediately available by phone to give us the code. All good.

Nice Quiet Getaway
This property is tucked away at Harris Neck Natl. Wildlife Refuge. It's nice and quiet. The property was very clean. There's a boat ramp right down the road, so we were able to do a little fishing while there. We drove the 5-mile drive around Harris Neck refuge, which is right across the road. I would recommend this property for a quiet weekend.

Peaceful retreat
I needed to get away by myself for a couple of days, and this was the perfect place. It had everything I needed, and was very clean. Sitting at the table on the screened porch, it felt a thousand miles away from the chaos of the world. I could move into Suite B and spend the rest of my life there and be perfectly content. I'll be going back every chance I get!

The cabin was wonderful! It was very clean and quiet and exactly what we were looking for. Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge was one of our favorite places to visit when we lived in coastal Georgia so finding a place that was literally next to it was amazing. If you are looking for a place that is secluded, peaceful, and very close to nature this is it!

Quiet getaway
Amazing! If you're a nature lover, this is your place. This duplex is snuggled amidst the nature preserve, along with ancient live oaks covered in moss. The place is very clean, simple, but nice. The owner is quick to respond and says it's his home away from home- you can tell it is a very loved and cherished place!

We were delighted with the location of this property since our trip was a bird and nature photography excursion. We drove the loop at Harris Neck and ended up across the street from the house! It was quiet and had everything needed for our stay. Would stay there again!

Perfect overnight stop
Spend the night on our way back from Myrtle beach to Tampa. Easy access from I-95. Quiet, beautiful location. Comfortable bed, very clean. Easy check in. Went to Old School Diner for dinner - only 2 miles away - quirky, fun and decent food and drink.

Marshland Retreat
The cabin is just as advertised, right across the street from Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. There is a huge wood stork rookery on a pond in the refuge that is easy to see along with white ibis and great blue herons. There are alligators in the pond as well. If you want to see wildlife, this is the place to go. The cabin itself was very spaciouos, clean and with a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Short and sweet!
We stayed just one night on our way back to Florida. It was a nice place and clean. The only thing we didn’t like is that there are no lights at night to be able to walk to your vehicle. It is extremely dark outside. The lights were on the opposite side of the property. So it’s a little scary to go to your vehicle at night. The furniture in the kitchen and dining area could be updated as well. But it was very peaceful and we enjoyed being secluded. The yard is very beautiful and we love all that space with nature all around.

Paradise
If you like Creation and solitude, this is the place for you. The lovely trees, the bluebird houses, and the swing all help to make this a very serene property. There is an automatic corn feeder which helps draw wildlife to the yard at dawn and dusk (when it's loaded). I hope I can figure a way to add pictures as I'd post the myriad of animals that graced the yard. The inside is well equipped with the exception of a stove (I brought an electric skillet). Hint - if you run out of toilet paper, check the cabinet over the refrigerator (I found it the day I was leaving after a six week stay). The structure is only a few years old, so it feels brand new. All the furniture was fine except for the recliner (rather uncomfortable). The entrance to the refuge is one mile down the road. I sometimes drove over and other times walked in through the exit (right across the street. You can walk to Woody Pond from the duplex as it is just 7/10 mile away! If there is little wind, be prepared for many gnats (yes, they bite. I sometimes wore a mosquito net). I would be remiss not to mention the best place to eat in the area - Altman's Restaurant! I would definitely go back if I wasn't so busy checking out the rest of our amazing country.

GREAT stay
It was exactly how it was presented in the listing. The backyard was absolutely gorgeous- however, if you have pets- please be weary of ticks. My pets ended up with multiple just from being outside for an hour. But that’s just something to expect being out in an untouched area. Regardless, the place was perfect to stay for the night while traveling all the way to Florida.

My family enjoyed our one night stay at this quiet and peaceful location. We loved how clean and fresh everything was upon our arrival. It felt like a "home" away from "home". Excellent Trip
Our trip started off shaky with some problems with the hot water but the owner was absolutely wonderful took care of the problem right away. The house was super clean and had a abundant of wildlife on the property which my wife absolutely loved. This is a must book and we give it 5+ stars. We were so pleased with the property and the owner Mr. Anderson hospitality that we've told all our friends and they too have booked. Thank you again for a wonderful trip!!

Beautiful Property
So peaceful and serene. Host were very accessible and polite. Just had one snafu with rude neighbors. They harassed our dog and cursed us out when they barked at them while we were at the store. Just being normal house dog. However, will recommend this spot for peace and relaxation.

This was chosen for its proximity to Harris Neck Refuge and for its quietness, solitude, and lack of distractions. (well, the birds and other wildlife were hard to ignore.) It was perfect for a personal and spiritual retreat. As a woman I felt perfectly safe being there alone. This was booked for me by my husband.
